Kei Tsukishima

It was recess time.

A small Tsukishima walked around the courtyard with his hands in his pockets, watching the other children play.

Then he heard some giggles.

Near a bench, a very small girl sat alone. She had her backpack on her lap and was looking at her food without touching it.

"Is she alone again?" a child whispered.

"It's because nobody wants to play with her," another replied.

Some laughed.

The girl pretended not to hear them, but her eyes began to water.

Tsukishima watched from afar.

He didn't like getting into trouble.

Nor did he understand why others found it fun to make someone feel bad.

Finally, he walked over to the bench and sat down next to her.

The girl raised her head.

She took one out and placed it on the bench.

The girl smiled a little.

From the other side of the courtyard, some laughter could be heard again.

Tsukishima sighed.

Tsukishima was left thinking.

The girl watched him.

She let out a small giggle.

For the first time in several days, she didn't feel completely alone.

He simply stood there, sharing his cookies with her.

And for that little girl, that was enough.

Sometimes, a person doesn't need someone to solve all their problems.

Sometimes she just needs someone to sit next to her and remind her that she's not alone.
