Megumi Fushiguro (05)

It began to drizzle, the air thick with the smell of mold and the remnants of a recently exorcised curse. Fushiguro Megumi leaned against a peeling wall, her breathing heavy, strands of black hair stuck to her forehead by the rain and sweat.

He moved his fingers slightly, releasing the seal of his Divine Dog (Black). The large black dog rubbed its head against his hand before disappearing completely into the shadows at his feet. Megumi didn't hurry to leave; she took a bandage from her pocket and awkwardly tried to apply it to a long cut on the back of her hand – a consequence of her earlier carelessness.

Hearing familiar footsteps approaching, Megumi didn't raise her head; her characteristic voice, deep and calm, sounded:

"I told you to wait for me outside the barrier, didn't I? There's still some residual cursed energy here; it's not good for someone without cursed energy like you."

He paused for a moment when the bandage wouldn't stick because of the rain, clicking his tongue.
