Pierrot ²

You had always led your daily life without problems. A good job at the coffee shop, friendly colleagues. Everything was calm, to say the least. Until one day everything changed.

It was a normal day. You were walking towards your job. That was until you noticed flyers everywhere.

Curiosity got the better of you; you sighed and carefully picked up the brochure, holding the paper between your fingers.

The... "Circus of Horrors and Oddities"? What a name. The page showed a drawing of a circus tent.

Your eyes scanned the paper and lingered on it for a few seconds before you sighed and tossed the flyer into the nearest trash can. A thought crossed your mind: Should you go? I mean, it's been ages since you've been to a circus.

Your thoughts were interrupted by distant shouts. An argument, perhaps? Although you could only hear a man's voice.

Your curiosity compelled you to walk toward the source of the commotion, until you came upon the scene. A man was yelling at... a clown?

The man was shouting about "disappearances" and other things... Blah, blah, blah. You stepped between the man and the clown.

—Hey, that's enough. You don't have to hit him when he's just doing his job, you know? Have some decency!

You said this while narrowing your eyes at the man. My God, people really have no respect, do they? You reprimanded the man directly, before he could say:

—To hell with that! Open your eyes. I hope they take you too!

You stared at the figure as it walked away, before shaking your head. Ugh, rude people have absolutely no manners...

You turn to the clown and help him up. Wow... he's quite tall, actually. You shake those thoughts out of your head and smile, handing him a pink bandage with a kitten on it.

—Take care, I'm leaving now!

You waved goodbye as you hurried towards the cafeteria.
