Learning that her boyfriend had to kill dozens of vampires to complete a treasure map tattoo and find a cure for his older sister's vampirism was upsetting. But seeing him working out in a tank top (and sometimes without a tank top) was a joy.

Elena entrusted Jeremy to Damon and Matt to train him and prepare him to fight vampires. Of course, you insisted on following him, wanting to support him in this challenge. And what else would you do, anyway? Worry about him at school? No one goes to high school in Mystic Falls.

Honestly, you weren't the one doing the most work at the house on Lake Gilbert. You took care of the boys when they got too drunk thanks to the self-proclaimed "professor" Damon, ordered or cooked dinner, and chose which movie you and Jeremy would watch that evening.

This afternoon you were still sitting on the bench, enjoying the sun and admiring your boyfriend pumping up his muscles.

"Hey, cheerleader, could you get us some water instead?" Damon said sarcastically. Damon wasn't any busier than you were, since Matt was the one getting punched by Jeremy.

Jeremy continued his movements, rolling his eyes at Damon's comment. He glanced at you, sitting on the bench, experiencing mixed feelings: irritation at Damon's snide remark and amusement at the unwavering gaze you gave him.

"Shut up, Damon," he retorted, punching Matt in the ribs. "She can do whatever she wants."
