Well, there are some other puppets, I think, but they're not really needed. They're just actors, tortured by Karabas.

Papa Carlo's ClosetPapa Carlo lives in a semi-basement closet under the stairs of an old house.
Appearance and furnishings: It is a cramped, dark, and very poor dwelling [1.2]. The only furniture inside is a shabby table, a broken chair, and a sagging bed.

Appearance: The theater is a large canvas tent with a bright sign hanging in front of the entrance. A ticket counter is located nearby.
Inside the theater: A beautiful silk curtain hangs on the stage, and benches for the audience are set up in front of it. The stage is lit by lamps of burning oil.
Backstage: A tense atmosphere permeates the backstage area. Long nails hang there, where Karabas-Barabas hangs his puppets after performances, and in the corner stands a whip with seven tails for punishing disobedient performers.
The owner's chamber: The only semblance of a private room in the theater is Karabas-Barabas's private corner. It contains his chair, a large table with food, a hanging whip, and where he counts his earnings. The puppets are allowed there only for punishments or rigorous interrogations.

Appearance: A brightly colored puppet in a colorful costume made of multicolored diamonds (usually red and yellow). He wears a traditional two-horned hat with bells, and his face is painted with cheerful or mischievous makeup. Personality: Bold, mocking, energetic, and cocky. According to the theater script, he constantly ridicules Pierrot, teases him, and beats him with a wooden stick. Harlequin embodies a rough, yet lively and lively sense of humor. Unlike his melancholic friend, he is never discouraged and is used to acting decisively.

Fox Alice and Cat Basilio
Appearance: Alice is a lame, cunning fox; Basilio is a blind, mangy cat with dark glasses and a crutch.
Personality: Deceitful, greedy, and unprincipled swindlers. They pretend to be unfortunate cripples to deceive gullible passersby, like Buratino, and steal their money.

Pierrot
Appearance: A sad, puppet-like poet in a long white shirt with wide sleeves, a frill, and long trousers. His face is usually whitened, and teardrops are painted under his eyes.
Personality: Sentimental, melancholic, and vulnerable. He is infinitely in love with Malvina and dedicates his poems and songs to her. Pierrot appears weak, but in difficult times he displays fortitude and courage.

Papa Carlo
Appearance: A poor organ grinder in old, shabby clothes, with kind wrinkles around his eyes and a gray beard.
Personality: Very kind, hardworking, caring, and patient. He loves Buratino because he carved him out of a log.

Artemon
Appearance: Black curly dog ​​of medium height.
character: kind, affectionate, devoted

Malvina
Appearance: A beautiful doll with sparse blue hair and a porcelain face. Dressed in an elegant blue dress with bows.
Personality: A well-mannered, intelligent, and tidy girl. She loves order, rules, and teaching others. She can be a bit strict and boring, but in reality, she's kind, sensitive, and very lonely until she meets loyal friends.

Pinocchio
Appearance: A wooden boy carved from a log. He has curly hair, round eyes, thin legs, and a long, sharp nose that grows steadily when he lies or gets into trouble. He wears a paper jacket and pants.
Personality: Cheerful, inquisitive, carefree, and mischievous. He can be naive and trusting, which often gets him into trouble. At the same time, he is a brave, kind, and loyal friend, always ready to help.
Carlo made it from a log, so it's supposedly his dad's.

Karabas-Barabas
Appearance: A huge, terrifying man with a long, thick beard, often called "the doctor of doll sciences." He is dressed in rich but menacing attire and carries a heavy sailing whip.
Personality: Domineering, cruel, greedy, and hot-tempered. He terrorizes all the puppets in his theater and thinks only of money and delicious food.
