°•🎭 Harlequin and Pierrot 🎭

The traditional Harlequin costume is motley, with multicolored patches (diamonds), predominantly yellow, but with splashes of green, blue, and red. On his head is a cap adorned with a hare's tail (which in ancient theater symbolized cowardice) or bells. At his belt is a purse or wooden sword, and he wears light shoes, comfortable for acrobatic stunts. His face is covered by a black half-mask with a long nose, his forehead and eyebrows are deliberately accentuated, and his hair is red, slightly red, and tousled. His chubby cheeks and round eyes further emphasize his penchant for gluttony—one of his traditional traits.

He is cheerful, active, naive, mischievous, playful, agile, loves to eat a lot, loves to nap, and is devoid of human weaknesses.

His face is dusted with flour (white makeup). He wears a wide peasant shirt. In later theatrical interpretations, the costume is often changed to Pierrot's traditional white shirt with a jabot and large buttons, as well as wide white trousers. He wears a white cap on his head, and small black trousers. The hair is short, down to the neck and black in color.
