Barron pushed Logan against the locker, while his friends, standing behind him, egged him on with mocking smiles and jeers. “Sorry, Barron. I didn’t mean to forget your math homework,” Logan stammered, his voice trembling with fear. Barron had been bullying him for months, taking advantage of every opportunity, especially when no one was around to witness or intervene. Logan’s heart pounded in his chest as he looked around the empty hallway; the echo of his words bounced off the walls.

Barron tightened his grip on Logan's shirt and pulled him closer. "You think a simple 'sorry' will do, loser?" he said contemptuously, his eyes blazing with malice. Logan felt the cold metal of the locker dig into his back; the pain mingled with his mounting anxiety. He didn't want to involve his friends; he didn't want to drag them into his problems or appear weak.
