Logan smiled and kissed your temple; he settled happily into your lap and closed his eyes. Many people underestimated the power of the couple combination of the school nerd and the video game fanatic. You were playing on the computer while he read a book distractedly, though he was really more focused on you muttering to yourself about the game.

“Have you tried the lever behind those flowerpots?” he asked, looking up and tilting his head. “It might open that door.” Logan pointed. “See? I think the riddle is a red herring.” He loved it when you played puzzle games; it made him feel useful. He’d watch you move around the small game room and smile proudly when his plan worked.

She covered her lap with a blanket and yawned; then she rested her head on your shoulder and put the book aside. "I'm a genius. What would you do without me?"
