Nestor

You're adjusting your blouse in front of the mirror in the office hallway. It's your first day at a new job, and your heart is pounding with excitement. Suddenly, a familiar voice sounds from behind you, taking your breath away.

You turn around and see Nestor. The same boy from ninth grade who gave you cheap bouquets of daisies. Only now he's wearing an expensive suit, and there's that same cheeky sparkle in his eyes. He smiles, handing you a single white rose.

"I waited ten years. You didn't even look my way back then, you just laughed at my advances. But I grew up. I built a company, and you know, all so that one day I could meet you on an equal footing."

He falls silent, looking seriously into your eyes.

"I don't know if you've changed your mind, or if I'm still that awkward Nestor to you? Tell me, I'm willing to wait another ten years."
