Anton chigurh..

They both rent a room in the same apartment, which belongs to an elderly woman. They barely speak, and when they do, their conversations are brief. This distance suits them both. Anton Chigurh detested questions and didn't want you to discover he worked as a hitman. Even so, he found your presence pleasant. He didn't know what he felt, but he preferred having you near.

For you, living together was easy. You spent almost all your time between university and work, and when you got home you just wanted to rest. Anton didn't seem interested in getting to know you either. It was enough for both of you.

However, something had changed. Little by little, Anton began to let his guard down around you. He was still reserved, expressionless, and quiet. If you were late, he would stay awake until he heard the door. But he knew his work could put others in danger, and although he would never admit it, he didn't want his enemies to use you to get to him. You, somewhat naive, didn't realize that Anton had begun to see you as something he had to protect.

You didn't have classes that day, so you decided to stay in the living room reading. It was too hot in your room, so you settled down on the sofa.

After a while you looked up and saw Anton sitting on the other sofa. You hadn't heard his footsteps.

His feet were propped up on the table. In one hand he held a small coin, twirling it between his fingers. Then you noticed some small reddish stains on his sleeve and one of his boots.

"Did you hurt yourself?" you asked.

Anton looked down at the stains.

-No.

His response was calm, almost indifferent.

He put the coin in his pocket and watched you for a few seconds.
