Tang is one of MK's teammates. When MK was stressed out from all the activity he was doing, he asked for Tang's help and thanked him when the latter showed him how to make duplicates of himself. Unlike with Pigsy, MK did not notice Tang was missing. While trapped in the Silken Web Cave, Tang revealed he sees himself as a father figure for MK. When a Celestial Dumpling attempted to strike Earth, MK recruited Tang as a teammate to help him go to Flower Fruit Mountain and find something that could destroy the Celestial Dumpling, as they both are professionals when it came to legends regarding Monkey King. But during their time there, MK began to get annoyed by Tang on how he was acting during the search his knowledge of Monkey King. Eventually, after a battle with Huntsman, MK and Tang were able to make amends and stop the Celestial Dumpling, saving Megapolis. While traveling with the others, MK tried to draw Tang, but had trouble making him look "cool" Later on, when MK and the rest went to Lantern City to win the talent show, he formed a band for the team. However, when Tang asked what could he do, MK instead benched Tang by placing him as the band's manager.

After learning how to use his 72 Transformations, MK had to get Pigsy's noodle sign back after it was taken by the Spider-Bots. He soon discovered that the Spider Queen was planning to rebuild the Spider mech and believed that she planned to attack Megapolis again. When MK destroyed the spider mech, MK was surprised to find out that the Spider Queen was rebuilding the mech to use it on Lady Bone Demon and saw that the Spider Queen was only being used as a pawn for the Bone Demon's plans. MK tried to convince the Spider Queen that they should work together to stop the Bone Demon, but the Spider Queen refused, saying that she doesn't need his help, and that she'll take over Megapolis no matter what stood in her way. As Spider Queen was about to attack MK, his powers triggered him and he transformed into a gorilla, overpowering the Spider Queen. He was about to attack her until he saw how vulnerable she was. Spider Queen admitted her defeat, but MK said it wasn't too late for her. After Lady Bone Demon confronted the two, Spider Queen fought her to buy MK time to escape.

Sandy is one of MK's friends and teammates, they are often seen hanging out. When MK first heard about Sandy, he was scared of him, as Pigsy described Sandy as a "dangerous, deadly, raged filled warrior". When Sandy asked MK's help for painting his boat, MK gladly accepts Sandy's favor and helped him, despite it being one of the three tasks that kept stressing him out. Instead of telling Sandy the truth, MK created an MK Clone to help Sandy paint his boat, as he didn't want to upset Sandy. However, when the plan backfired when the Artist Clone started threatening Sandy, MK head over to Sandy and rescued him.

After finding MK and his friends stranded in the desert, Red Son brought them back to his home.

During on one of his deliveries, MK stumbled upon Red Son and his mother's plan to free the Demon Bull King. As he did, MK eavesdropped on the Demon Bull Family's plan to takeover the mortal realm, until a bird pecked at him, making him on fall on top of Red Son. This embarrassed Red Son, as his moment ruined. MK then became a target for Red Son, who was determined to kill him, to show his father how strong he had become. When MK returned back to Megapolis, he accidentally rammed Red Son with the Cloud Jet during the battle. During a confrontation at the Weather Station, MK met Red Son again, they insulted each other. Both seemed very happy to engage in conflict again, excited to defeat one another. Because of MK's difficulty in handling his powers, MK accidentally hurt his friends, allowing Red Son to capture them. When MK returned to stop Red Son after Monkey King limited his powers, the two got into an intense fight until Red Son seemingly won. However, MK gained the upper and defeated Red Son and the Bull Clones by striking them with lightning. During the Battle of the Flaming Foundry, instead of fighting Red Son, MK worked with him, as he had to help him and Princess Iron Fan free the Demon Bull King from Lady Bone Demon's control. During New Year's, MK crossed paths with Red Son as the Spider Queen's took over Megapolis, believing that he was in league with the Spider Demons. He soon learned that Red Son actually intended to save Megapolis and his father from the Spider Queen by creating an antidote, but because of the Monkie Kids' interference, he was forced to work with them. Although the others didn't trust Red Son, MK was the first to accept his assistance and travel to the Celestial Realm, as it was the only way to save the city. Red Son noticed MK was not acting like his usual self, and was more withdrawn than usual. He was annoyed when MK returned to his usual peppy self. Later, MK joined in joking with Mei that Red Son was a hero.

When Pigsy kept reminding MK about his responsibility same powers of the Monkey King's, MK ignored him, as he thought he had no problem since he was invincible, despite it being untrue. However, after having his powers limited, MK promised Pigsy and the others that he'll control his powers by practicing. When Pigsy threatened to fire MK after having enough of his foolishness, MK begged him to give him one more chance. Despite Pigsy agreeing, he warned MK said that he'll replace him with a robot known as the "Deliverybot 9000" if he messed up the next delivery. While MK struggled to make his deliveries in the Haunted Forest, Pigsy called him to tell him how useful the Deliverybot 9000 would be, though he showed concern when MK freaked out about his hallucinated spooky trees. Because of Pigsy's addiction to Ping Pong, MK believed that Pigsy needed a break from working so he could play. But as time passed, MK learned about the truth about Pigsy's addiction and was able to get through to him by challenging him in a game of Ping Pong. In the end, MK apologized to Pigsy for not listening and tried to take the blame, Pigsy seemed to also realize he hadn't been listening. After Speedy Panda challenged Pigsy's Noodles to Food Wars, MK helped Pigsy in the competition to prevent the Gold and Silver Demons from closing down Pigsy's restaurant forever. Eventually, Pigsy began to believe that he was gonna lose during the final round, but MK said otherwise. While disagreeing, MK said that because Pigsy always supported him, he now has to return the favor by creating the Noodle Tank. Because of everything MK was going through, Pigsy tried to console him, telling him that he understand how he feels. But MK brushed him off, exclaiming to Pigsy that, at leas====A Lifetime of Mistakes==== t he had a family, something MK believed that he never had. When MK left to prevent anymore harm, Pigsy was in tears, as he considered MK to be family.

There's not much information about them other than they are enemies.

There is no information on the relationship on the two of them but they are allies and at times friendly towards eachother.

Later, the monkeys alerted him of another item he forgot so MK picked it up and asked Monkey King about it, who was immediately alarmed when he saw it. Unfortunately, the scroll was unrolled before they could do anything. Monkey King didn't respond to MK when he asked him what they were supposed to do as Ink Demons appeared and shapeshifted before them. They barely leapt out of the way when an Ink Ne Zha stabbed at them, taking the monkeys instead. Monkey King struggled to move while MK failed to save them. An Ink Peng came at him but Monkey King suddenly appeared, holding him off for a little longer, while he told MK the ghosts of his past had caught up with him for the mistakes he made and that he had to seal the scroll. He sank below the ink before he could say anything else to him. During his time in the Scroll of Memory, MK kept experiencing visions of Monkey King with a stone egg at Flower Fruit Mountain. Unbeknownst to MK, the visions he saw were Monkey King encountering MK's stone egg as he tried to look for MK through the memories of the Scroll of Memory. MK was so enraged by Azure Lions plan to keep Monkey King trapped in the Scroll of Memory that he transformed into a monkey demon and attacked the Azure Lion, accidentally causing the plank containing Monkey King to be sliced in two.

After the battle with the Spider Demons, MK was surprised to learn that Monkey King was leaving Flower Fruit Mountain to go on vacation, despite there being a possibility for Megapolis to be attacked again. Monkey King told MK not to worry and that he needed to take care of himself while he's gone. Once Monkey King left, MK briefly got mad at him for leaving. MK was saved from Lady Bone Demon when Monkey King arrived, leaving him in shock after seeing him in person for quite sometime. Although, upon being forced to leave Megapolis in ruins as Lady Bone Demon won, MK snapped at Monkey King, saying that he should've done something beforehand until he learned the real reason why Monkey King left. After fighting the Gold and Silver Demons, MK brought over a pile of items they stole from Ne Zha to Monkey King for safekeeping. While they looked through the stuff, Monkey King praised him and later admitted he was probably doing a much better job for the world than he ever could have, but MK disagreed, believing all those events were caused by him. Monkey King suggested that he needed to let go and reminded him that so long as he made the world a better place than it was before, everything would be okay. However, MK responded that he already liked the world the way it was and wished it would stay like that forever. Monkey King then looked away and knowingly assured him forever was a long time, implying that such a wish was just unlikely to happen. They sorted out the rest of the things afterwards.

The Monkey King is MK's mentor and predecessor. At some point in time, MK became a fan of the Monkey King and looked up to him. After his first battle with the Demon Bull King, MK was trained and learned lessons by the Monkey King while trying to get better control of his powers. When MK meets the Monkey King in person, he apologizes to him for losing the Golden Staff until the Monkey King told MK that he's been watching him for a while, as he wanted MK to be his successor. However, when MK said he doesn't know if he can, the Monkey King encourages him by saying that he needs to believe in himself. While training with Monkey King, MK began to believe that he was getting nowhere with his training. After meeting Macaque, MK asked him if he can train him instead of Monkey King.

After a while, MK learned about Macaque's true colors after his powers stolen from him. Eventually, Monkey King arrived and tried to stop Macaque from harming MK further. He reminded MK of his training and they defeated Macaque together. After Macaque was defeated, MK apologized to Monkey King, saying that he only did it because he wanted to be stronger for him. Planning improving his skills in the new year, MK trained with Monkey King until the Spider Queen attacked Megapolis. MK joined Monkey King in an attempt to defeat her, but because of his fear of spiders, he was told to step down while Monkey King went ahead. However, Monkey King was soon kidnapped by the Spider Queen, making MK blame himself for Monkey King's capture and wasn't sure what to do during the Spider Queen's revenge. During the battle with Spider Queen, MK was met with Monkey King again, working together to defeat the Spider Demons and saved Megapolis.

After the ritual started, MK learned about how the Samadhi Fire is connected Mei. Because he is her best friend, MK did his best to try to get through Mei during her breakdown, despite knowing that the Samadhi Fire is strong enough to kill a person. Eventually, MK was able to comfort Mei by embracing her in a hug, saying that that he feels the same way. But after Mei left to prevent any more harm, MK learned that Mei could control the Samadhi Fire, and all they needed to do was help her. MK and Mei fought off the Gold and Silver Demons from destroying the city. They tried to punish them but the Demon Accountant appeared and stopped them. Mei warned them it was the last time and to keep their noses clean. After they left, MK told her he wasn't actually going to hurt them but just did it because he thought they looked cool. He questioned if they were going on a path of darkness, which Mei didn't take seriously at first. However, after she heard MK briefly recount what happened throughout the year, she asked if he was okay. MK assured Mei he was fine and immediately left for Flower Fruit Mountain so she couldn't ask anything else.

During New Year's, MK intended to hang out with Mei at the festival after he was done with his training from Monkey King. But because of the Spider Queen's attack on Megapolis, MK joined Monkey King in an attempt to defeat Spider Queen while Mei evacuated with the others from the city. After Monkey King's capture, MK met up with Mei and the rest as he explained what happened. When Mei tried to reassure MK, he ended up yelled at her. Upon realizing what he said, MK apologized to Mei, only for her and the others to assure him as they planned to make things right. MK joined Mei and the others attend in a theater, in hopes of seeing Kung Fu Monkey Cop: The Movie with them, only to realize that they were actually seeing a shadow play called The Hero and the Warrior. As Mei expressed joy of having the team hang out together after quite some time, MK learned that he's been neglecting time with her and the others as he trained. When the play was about to start, MK left to get snacks. But when he returned, he found out Mei and the rest were gone, thinking that they left while he was away. After the play ended, MK left a voice mail for Mei to see where she's at. MK eventually learned that Mei was kidnapped by Macaque, who used his magic lantern to capture Mei, Pigsy, and Tang and used their shadows to make them fight MK. After training with Mei, MK and the others were attacked by Lady Bone Demon's Bone Spider. After destroying the bone mech, MK had to explained to Mei about Lady Bone Demon and that he had to keep it a secret to protect her, though he got mad at her and the others when they thought that it was about a crush for a moment.

MK is Mei's best friend. Because of them being close friends, MK and Mei often hang out in places in Megapolis such as the Anti-Gravity Arcade. Because of hanging out with Mei at night too much, MK becomes exhausted due to the activities. When Tang told MK that he shouldn't work too hard and relax, MK said he can't, as he didn't want to upset Mei and hang out with her more. Instead, MK got the idea to make a clone to hang out with Mei while he slacked off. But because MK didn't know how to use his powers yet, MK had to rescue Mei from the Party Clone at the Anti-Gravity Arcade. Eventually, MK got the night off and told Mei that he learned his lesson about making clones. However, when MK created another MK Clone to raise the volume of the TV, he and the MK Clone were attacked by an enraged Mei. While playing Monkey Mech with Mei, MK learned that Mr. and Mrs. Dragon wanted Mei to house-sit the Dragon Temple House for them while they were away. Hearing this, MK was able to convince Mei to invite him and Sandy so they could have a sleepover, hoping he could see what is it like there. But during his time there, MK briefly annoyed Mei by nearly breaking everything and eventually destroyed the only thing in the Dragon House that couldn't be replaced, a pinball machine that belonged to Mr. Dragon. During his time in the Calabash, MK ended up on a romantic river cruise with Mei's Calabash counterpart, who told MK that she loved him since the day they first met, causing MK to be on the verge of throwing up until she said that she loved being his best friend instead, showing that MKs relationship with the real Mei is platonic. MK's friendship with Mei was briefly torn apart after an argument, where MK said that he was going to beat her at the Great Wall Race. Despite this, they were able to make up when MK apologized.

MK was caught off guard by the unexpected news that Macaque would be accompanying him on the mission to rescue Monkey King in the Scroll of Memory. The surprise transformed into a sense of offense when Macaque subtly implied that MK's lack of comprehension regarding Journey to the West was a contributing factor to his inclusion in the mission. MK acknowledged that there was some truth to Macaque's remark. Once inside the scroll, Macaque judged MK for not getting his joke about the Shuilian Cave, thinking that he should actually read the book. MK couldn't help but feel taken aback by the bond of friendship that he witnessed between Macaque and Monkey King within the vivid memories encapsulated within the Scroll.

One of the memories stood out to MK, where he saw Monkey King's aggressive and hostile behavior towards Macaque during his imprisonment in Five Phases Mountain. The display of animosity caused MK to question the validity of Macaque's portrayal of Monkey King as a bad person. Filled with a burning desire for answers, MK asked Macaque about the origins of their bitter rivalry. However, much to his frustration, Macaque chose to evade the conversation and simply walked away, leaving MK in a state of confusion.

Despite turning in the Mayor to MK and the others, Macaque was tied up along with the Mayor. Beforehand, MK didn't want to hear anything from Macaque and put him in timeout, but as Macaque explained that Lady Bone Demon was vulnerable as she was spreading her power too thin, MK used this information to create a plan to destroy the bone mech. MK then convinced Macaque to help them stop the Bone Demon by fighting off Monkey King, knowing that there's some goodness inside of him. MK went to get the Golden Staff as Macaque kept Monkey King busy for him. Later on, he joined forces with the others to take down Lady Bone Demon. After the battle, they celebrated with a feast of noodles. Macaque appeared behind MK, asking if he was done with his share, but Monkey King immediately snatched the bowl and they squabbled before he left. One day, MK sent an order of noodles to Macaque, along with a drawing of himself, Mei, Monkey King, and Macaque. Upon seeing Macaque on Flower Fruit Mountain, MK reacts with intimidate hostility before giving up, not having the energy to deal with him. Macaque softens when he sees MK is upset, and decides to show him Because of the agitation he was getting, MK was giving a video game that Macaque made so he can take his mind off of them. However, after getting game over every time he made a choice, MK learned that Macaque's game was supposed to make him learn no matter what choice he made, it will result in the same outcome, to which MK lambasted Macaque by thanking him for just making it worse. He was then told by Macaque that he can make his own options, rather than following one.

As MK agreed with Monkey King's plan to use the Samadhi Fire, he was attacked by Macaque, who sided with Lady Bone Demon to capture him and Monkey King for her. Even though he was powerless at the time, MK tried to fight Macaque, only to be grabbed by him as he was mocked for his lack of power. MK soon got an idea to defeat Macaque as he saw one of the Team Dronecopter's propellers. When Mei showed up, MK put the in motion, and threw the piece of metal he had at one of the propellers, making Macaque fall off the Team Dronecopter as it crash to the East Sea. As MK was taken by Macaque, he was surprised to learn that Macaque was being forced to work for Lady Bone Demon to make up for a mistake. Macaque began to threaten Sandy and Mei, irritating MK as he briefly fought him. MK tried reasoning with Macaque by suggesting that they should work together to fight the Bone Demon, but to no avail. When Macaque began to threaten to hurt Sandy and Mei again, MK tried turning himself in so they could be spared. Macaque didn't accept, saying that MK was nothing without his staff or powers. However, as Macaque said this, MK regained his powers of transformation, and used it to transform into a bird and strike the eye of Macaque's Mech. Just as MK and his team were waiting for Monkey King so they can reforge the Samadhi Fire, a Bone Demon powered Macaque arrived, desperate to claim the Samadhi Fire to free himself. But as MK destroyed parts of Macaque's Mech to stop him, he was surprised at what had happened to Macaque. The latter grabbed MK and repeatedly slammed him against the ground, forcing him to surrender. Macaque created a shadow portal in order to save MK from a corrupted Monkey King. He later presented a beaten up Mayor to the Monkie Kids.

When MK saw Macaque battling the Smoke Monster, he mistook him for Monkey King. When he rushed to him, he apologize for the inconvenience, to which Macaque claimed to not really be a problem. MK was recognized as the Monkey King's successor by Macaque because of the staff, and asked him if he could train him, to which Macaque accepted. Despite Macaque's lessons pushing him past his limits, MK continued to be trained by him until he was ready to fight the Smoke Monster again. Although he wasn't confident at first, MK was convinced by Macaque's motivation and went to fight the Smoke Monster. But as he did, his powers were taken, learning that Macaque only trained him to steal his powers. Attending in a shadow play with his friends, MK met Macaque again, unaware that he was the puppeteer of the play he was watching. MK listened to the story about The Hero and the Warrior, and considered the two characters to be like him and Monkey King. After awhile, MK told Macaque, who was still in disguise, all of his insecurities to him. As he did, however, MK learned Macaque was posing as the puppeteer, and realized that he had done. MK, who was told that he is the kind of hero that abandon others for power like Monkey King, said that he is nothing like that before he was forced the fight the shadow versions of his friends. Having enough, MK tried to strike Macaque with the Golden Staff, only for the latter to stop him once more and destroy the lamp. After his friends were released from the lamp, MK followed Macaque, wanting to know why he did that. Macaque told him that he intended to make MK be tormented by his own actions but saw that he was already doing that.

After Monkey King was freed from the corruption, MK held off Lady Bone Demon by creating the Monkey Mech. MK told the Lady Bone Demon that the world shouldn't be judged for it's worst qualities, but she doesn't budge. After the Bone Demon was destroyed, MK asked her if she really thought that the universe wants something from them, only to be asked the same question, in which he responds that he tries not to ruminate. He was soon warned about his similarities with Lady Bone Demon and that his actions will only result in pain for himself and others.

When MK first saw Lady Bone Demon, he saw her corrupting the Demon Bull King into becoming the Bone Demon Queen, and thought that she was a mystical power source. As he was about to escape from the sewers, he found Lady Bone Demon, who was pretending to be a little girl in trouble. Believing it, MK comforted Lady Bone Demon until she took him back to the Silken Web Cave, where she explained that MK needs to use the Golden Staff on the Trigram Furnace to stop Spider Queen. However, once MK realized that it was the same furnace from the Celestial Realm, he used his Gold Vision, learning Lady Bone Demon's identity and the one who possessed the Demon Bull King and helped the Spider Queen capture Monkey King. MK was soon tormented by Lady Bone Demon, who got into MK's head by lying that Monkey King was wrong about choosing him as his successor until she was interrupted by the Spider Queen. After destroying the Bone Spider, MK explained Lady Bone Demon to his friends until she arrived, leaving him shock as Lady Bone Demon rebuilt the bone mech. During their battle, MK attempt to use his powers on the mech, but this instead drain them, up to the point where MK couldn't lift the Golden Staff anymore. As Lady Bone Demon obtain her true form, MK begged her to stop as Lady Bone Demon intended to kill him by encasing him in bones. However, MK was saved when Monkey King arrived. As Macaque and Monkey King fought, MK was met with Lady Bone Demon. He told her that he wanted to believe that he found the Golden Staff to protects others and the world. But as he tried to pull the Golden Staff off its stand, MK found that he couldn't, in which Lady Bone Demon taunted MK by asking how can possibly he defeat her if Monkey King couldn't. Because of Monkey King's corruption and knowing about her desire to complete her destiny, MK chastised Lady Bone Demon, saying she shouldn't even be taking control of Monkey King if destiny can't be changed, and that he will never give up fighting her.

Because of MK's status as the Monkie Kid, he was seen as a potential enemy for the Gold and Silver Demons, who sought to defeat him. When MK was delivering noodles, he went to an abandoned movie theater to deliver them to the Gold and Silver Demons, believing that they were an old woman. After giving away his name to them, MK was sucked into the Calabash by them, where he was supposed to be trapped in there forever. During his time there, MK was unaware that his friends were actually the Gold and Silver Demons impersonating as them until Mo talked. Once returning to the real world, MK encountered the Gold and Silver Demons again and learned what happened. When the two demons bluffed that they now intend to fight MK, the latter believed them and drew out the Golden Staff. But as he did, the Golden and Silver Demon ran away, leaving MK confused. As MK joined the Great Wall Race to compete against Mei for the Immortal Peach Trophy, he was met with the Gold and Silver Demons, who reminded MK that they're his worst enemies. But as they made themselves noticed, MK ignored the two demons until the Demon Bull Family arrived. This led to the Gold and Silver Demons becoming the race's commentators and changing the racing track for MK and the rest of the racers. After being challenged to Food Wars by Speedy Panda, MK expressed confusion as the Gold and Silver Demons reminded him who they are once again, but learned that they were the co-owners of Speedy Panda, and intended to shut down Pigsy's Noodles to make MK jobless and weak enough to be destroyed. Jin and Yin used the Golden Serpent Shears to try to destroy the city but MK and Mei stopped them. When they tried to ask for mercy, MK rejected the offer and brought down the shears to punish them, only to be blocked by the Demon Accountant. Eventually, they let them go and MK later told Mei that he only did it because they thought they looked cool, not because he was actually going to kill them.

MK observed with worry as Azure Lion grappled desperately with the Power of the Jade Emperor. Despite his determination to make things right, Azure was unwavering in his belief that only he could correct the current chaos. In his eyes, if Monkey King hadn't intervened, the world would have naturally fallen back into order. However, MK emphatically disagreed, insisting that Monkey King bore no responsibility for the situation. When Monkey King arrived, MK realized Azure had unwittingly become a pawn in the universe's destruction at the hands of the Scroll of Memory thief, ever since his escape from the Underworld. Azure Lion professed that his intentions were pure, claiming he sought only to better the world. Urging Azure to acknowledge his intrinsic power, MK reminded him that he alone possessed the ability to restore balance. As Azure initiated his arduous task of repairing the fabric of existence, MK couldn't help but notice the concerning deterioration of Azure's body. Alarmed, MK tried to intervene, but Monkey King insisted that this was Azure's personal choice. In the aftermath of Azure Lion's sacrifice, both MK and Monkey King were engulfed in a tumult of remorse and sorrow.

MK was under rigorous interrogation by Azure Lion, who questioned as to why MK would willingly endanger his life for the sake of Monkey King, a figure who had inflicted deep emotional wounds upon him. Despite Azure's hostile intentions, which had almost resulted in the demise of both MK and Monkey King, MK unleashed a dazzling surge of energy, causing a metamorphosis into a Mystic Monkey, leading to a thunderous clash with Azure Lion that reverberated across the ground they stood upon. Azure Lion, bewildered by MK's sudden transformation, leveled accusations at Monkey King, accusing the Great Sage of being the catalyst for MK's descent into a wild, untamed creature. MK contested Azure's allegations, pointing out the insincerity of Azure's so-called friendship and highlighting the manipulative undertones in their dealings. MK cautioned Azure about the dire consequences that would arise from provoking him, challenging Azure to substantiate his claims of heroism through action rather than mere words. The tension between them escalated as MK defiantly issued the challenge, propelling Azure Lion with immense force into the heart of Flower Fruit Mountain. Through it all, MK, having reverted to his familiar form, watched intently as Azure grappled with Power of the Jade Emperor, causing the universe to break apart.

MK, who had enough of Monkey King's entrapment, fought Azure Lion in his monkey form. This led to Azure Lion firing his blade at MK, accidentally cutting the plank that contained Monkey King in two. Azure Lion immediately blamed MK for his own mistake. As the Brotherhood prepared to leave, MK was spared by Azure Lion, saying that he was just a child who had been tricked by Monkey King. As Azure Lion was about to kill Ne Zha, MK stepped in, landing various hits on Azure Lion, and eventually stole the bamboo slip that contained Monkey King without Azure Lion noticing. Once he was done, MK tried to make Azure Lion stand down by saying that he doesn't want to be his enemy, but the latter didn't give in. When Azure Lion attempt to use his saber on MK and the others, MK had Tang teleport them before they could be hit. MK and Azure's fierce battle continued unabated. Amidst the intense conflict, MK, aided by Monkey King, skillfully evaded Azure Lion's relentless onslaught, refusing to back down and only adding fuel to the already tense confrontation. Azure resorted to summoning Ink Demons in a bid to trap MK, yet MK's ability to shrink in size became his saving grace, allowing him to deftly sidestep Azure's sword strike unscathed. MK and Monkey King reveled in Azure's defeat, underlining the embarrassing nature of the situation as they had outsmarted Azure Lion on his debut as the Jade Emperor. However, Azure's sudden transformation into a colossal entity hinted at his purpose to vanquish Monkey King, particularly upon uncovering the Scroll of Memory being taken from him. Just as Azure was poised to launch a devastating attack, MK intervened swiftly, thwarting a potentially fatal strike.

When MK and Mei were about to be attacked by the Ink Demons, they saw Azure Lion step in as he destroyed them, securing the Scroll of Memory that spawned them. But as he did, MK attacked him and took the scroll back, thinking that he was the one who imprisoned his friends inside. As MK and Mei arrived at Chang'an, he was met up with the Azure Lion, who used astral projection to speak with them. MK was warned that the protective curse can also find him and Mei if they alter the scroll's memories too much, in which they doing just by wearing the clothes they had on. When MK was given a set of clothes to blend in more, he started undressing in front of the Azure Lion, who looked away as he told MK and Mei that they could've at least waited so he can turn around. To find his friends easier, MK was then given a list of instructions by the Azure Lion. As Azure Lion cleared the misunderstanding and explained the scroll's origins, MK learned that Monkey King and Azure Lion used to be sworn brothers, in which Mei considered Azure Lion to be MK's sworn uncle. MK was then asked to give the Scroll of Memory back. Although he didn't trust him at first, MK was assured by Mei before giving the scroll back to Azure Lion. After undoing the Scroll of Memory's curse, MK saw Azure Lion arriving before being teleported out of the scroll. As they were all freed, MK was confused as his friends got in a fighting stance in front of Azure Lion, asking him what happened to Monkey King. After learning about Azure Lion's true intentions from his friends, MK was taken back to the Scroll of Memory with the demon, who explained his past relationship with Monkey King and why he did what he had to do. When Azure Lion refused to free Monkey King from the Scroll of Memory until he kills the Jade Emperor.

Mortality - As a human, MK possesses a mortal body, so is highly vulnerable to any forms of injuries, sicknesses, and death.
Arachnophobia - Due to the appearance of an average arachnid, MK possesses an irrational fear of spiders, being incapable of concentrating whenever encountering one as it often leads to trouble for himself and others. Because of this, the Spider Demons took advantage of MK's fear for their plans, with one example being the time when MK's arachnophobia led to Spider Queen's plan to take over Megapolis during New Year's.

Teleportation - MK utilized the Yellow Color Stone to teleport himself and the others to the Temple of Nüwa.

Staff proficiency - While not on the same skill level as the Monkey King, MK has shown to adept in using the Golden Staff, albeit with some difficulties such as being initially unable to control its size.
Vehicle intuition - MK has extraordinary skill in operating vehicles.
Artistry - MK is a talented artist, he enjoys drawing but struggles when depicting Tang.
Replication - MK has the ability to make copies of himself using strands of his hair. When he had less control over his powers some of his clones became unstable.
Astral projection - MK can interact with other people through astral projections, thus being able to talk to another person despite not being in the same place as them.
Materialization - Even without the Golden Staff, MK possesses the ability to transform various objects into something new. This is exemplified by his creation of an upgraded Monkey Mech through the utilization of stone from Flower Fruit Mountain.
Size alteration - MK can grow or shrink his body as well as objects.
Flaming Fist of Fury - After playing Monkey King's VR video game, MK was able to unlock one of Monkey King's abilities, which let him ignite his fist and throw various fire punches.
Shapeshifting - Like the Monkey King, MK can shapeshift into one of his 72 forms.

MK's book is a red book that contains his writings detailing the history of the Monkey King. The front cover depicts a drawing of MK and Monkey King. The book is also used as a sketch-book.

The Golden Staff is legendary staff owned by MK. Originally, it belonged to the Monkey King, who used the staff to imprison the Demon Bull King under Demon Hill However, during his battle with the Lady Bone Demon, MK lost the Golden Staff after his powers were taken. He later gained it back before defeating the Lady Bone Demon.

MK's phone is a handheld object he owns. He mainly uses it as a GPS when he delivers noodles. It is orange and has a cracked screen.

MK is a teenager with spiky black hair that's kept up by a red bandana. A part of his hair is falling lazily outside of the bandana. It waves every time he moves his head. He is small and has thick eyebrows. MK has the Chinese character for "sky" on the left side of his jacket, a red rectangle design with white squares is on the right. His bandana has a circlet design on the front and his pants have two vertical white stripes on the sides.

Monkey King's absence and Lady Bone Demon's interference caused MK's insecurities to grow. He felt that the Monkey King had made a mistake and that he wasn't fit to be his successor. He hides these feelings and becomes distant from his friends in order to protect them, as he cares about his friends very deeply. He's frustrated with Monkey King's departure in Season 2, though it manifests more as self-doubt than anything else. In Season 4, MK expresses guilt for every bad thing that has happened since he had found the Golden Staff, believing that he only makes things worse, and that everything is his fault. These anxieties were later voiced by the protective curse, upsetting MK enough to unlock his Mystic Monkey form.

MK is a sociable individual who enjoys spending time with his friends and engaging in recreational activities such as playing games. However, his work performance is hindered by his tendency to become easily distracted, resulting in him neglecting his duties and occasionally feigning the delivery of noodles to conceal his inattention. MK is an avid admirer of the Monkey King, claiming to have extensive knowledge of his history and background. Nevertheless, he has acknowledged that he has not paid attention to the parts of Journey to the West that weren't about Monkey King. Upon gaining the Monkey King's Golden Staff, MK seeks to become hero like the Monkey King. However, he tends lose focus on the task at hand, and can be quite impatient. He has severe arachnophobia but can overcome it when his life is at stake. MK is also a bit forgetful, often not remembering what powers he has. MK cares a lot about his friends and is willing to do whatever it takes to protect and be there for them, even risking his own life just to comfort his best friend after having an emotional breakdown. MK is caring, as he accepts and encourages the help of Red Son and Macaque, even though both were his enemies at the time. He believes that things cannot be judged its worst qualities, and that there is perfection in imperfection. MK's beliefs in heroism have allowed him to be manipulated on several occasions. Despite having shown care for his friends and himself, he has acted a bit of a jerk in the past and has shown a bit of an ego, which stems from compensating his insecurities and lack of confidence in himself. He was inconsiderate to some of his friends' feelings in earlier episodes, such as Mei—but he is not like this not all the time, and he apologizes properly when confronted and tries to make up for it. MK has also said that he often plays dumb to lighten the mood.

With the assistance of Azure, MK and Mei successfully liberated their friends from the Scroll of Memory. Throughout the process, MK experienced visions that led him to the realization that he was a Mystic Monkey, akin yet distinct to the Monkey King. Following the destruction of the protective curse and Azure's ascension to the position of Jade Emperor, MK and his team engaged in a battle against the Brotherhood at Flower Fruit Mountain. In his Mystic Monkey form, MK confronted Azure Lion and emerged victorious. MK and his friends race to find five colored stones to mend the pillar of Heaven and to stop the destruction of the universe. After, the mysterious enemy was revealed as The Nine-Headed Demon, The demon shatters the Underworld court and reveals that MK is the Harbinger of Chaos and that his ultimate destiny is to sacrifice himself and trigger a universal cosmic reset. The Nine/Headed Demon frees MK, giving him the choice to let the universe end or sacrifice himself as the final missing piece needed to reforge the Pillar of Heaven and save his friends. Sun Wukong, Macaque, and his friends refuse to let him give up his life, leading to desperate attempts and physical clashes to stop him from going through with the fatal act. But it was too late as MK enter the pillar where he met his creator and goddess of creation Nuwa only to discover that even though the Pillar will be restored she would to conclude the Great Cycle as without the guardians, no one could control the Color Stones to maintain the Pillar of Heaven. This results in MK ultimately defying the strict destiny and commands, choosing instead to return to his friends and distribute the power of the stones to the world thus restoring the pillar and giving everyone powers of the stones.

MK is a noodle delivery boy and the successor of the Monkey King. When MK learned that the Demon Bull King was freed from his imprisonment, he, along with Mei, Pigsy, Tang, and Sandy, went on a quest to Flower Fruit Mountain. However, when he went to Flower Fruit Mountain, the Monkey King appointed him as his successor. MK then defeated the Demon Bull King, earning the title Monkie Kid. Sometime later, MK's power was sealed by Monkey King, who began training him. MK fought many demons, including Macaque, who tricked him and temporarily stole his powers. After the Demon Bull family freed the Lady Bone Demon from her tomb, MK helped Princess Iron Fan and Red Son free the Demon Bull King from her possession. When the Spider Queen took control of the city and captured the Monkey King during New Year's, MK, his friends, and Red Son traveled to the Celestial Realm to gather ingredients for an antidote to the Spider Queen's venom. MK along with the Monkey King defeated Spider Queen. Soon after New Years, Monkey King lied to MK, stating he was going on vacation, when he was really looking for a weapon to defeat the Lady Bone Demon. After an encounter with the Bone Demon, MK began doubting himself. Eventually, MK learned that the Spider Queen was being used as a pawn by Lady Bone Demon, who used her to make the bone mech. Lady Bone Demon stole MK's powers and sealed the staff in bone. MK was rescued by Monkey King, who revealed his plan to find the Samadhi Fire. After the fire was unleashed, revealing itself to be within Mei, MK and his friends defeated the Lady Bone Demon.
