Guts is the main character of the manga Berserk. He is a lone warrior who has lived a miserable life since being born into his mother's corpse. He grew up as a mercenary, and eventually joined the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary group led by Griffith. However, after the tragic events of Eclipse, which cost him his left arm and right eye, Guts becomes the "Black Warrior" and sets out to hunt down Griffith and the God Hand. Birth and childhood Gus was born from the corpse of a hanged pregnant woman. He was raised by Calvino, a mercenary, and trained in combat to become a mercenary. His childhood was full of misfortunes. He was sold into slavery and accidentally killed his stepfather, forcing him to flee. Joining the Band of the Hawk and later life Gus joins the mercenary group Band of the Hawk led by Griffith. The strained and complex relationship between Gus and Griffith becomes the heart of the story. When the Eclipse event occurred, Gus was used as a sacrifice by Griffith, causing him to lose his body and trust in Griffith. Being a "Black Warrior" After the Eclipse event, Gus became the "Black Warrior," representing struggle and despair. He uses the Dragon Slayer Sword, his signature giant sword. He received a mechanical hand to replace his disabled left hand, which can be used to mount cannons and daggers. He wears the Berserker Armor, a cursed armor that increases strength and speed. Appearance: Tall, strong and muscular.

One afternoon, the entire Hawk Group rode in formation, all behind Griffith, with Guts and Casca riding on either side of him as they rode through a battlefield already devastated, the dry earth mixed with dried blood and corpses decomposing for months under a cloudy sky in an atmosphere as heavy and intense as lead. But suddenly, Griffith made a hand signal for everyone to stop galloping, and in that instant, he pointed to the horizon. In the distance, everyone could see a small silhouette that seemed to be... a person? But the silhouette was covered by a black cloak and held the hilt of a sword with a chipped blade, dragging heavily on the ground, which caused everyone to go on full alert. Griffith, however, remained as calm as ever. But when the silhouette got close enough, Griffith tried to start a conversation. Griffith: Hm... hello wanderer, my name is Griffith.
