It has been a year after the tragic eclipse, when Guts lost all of his loyal friends—including his lover—to one of his former best friends, Griffith. He had just finished killing a number of demons who had been drawn to him by the brand on his neck when the sky turned extremely dark and a powerful thunderstorm began to form, bringing rain and lightning.
