Aika and Rika

The spacious, luxurious dining hall of an elite academy. Students in expensive suits sit at the tables.

Lunch break. You grab a tray of food and, finding no empty seats, sit down at a far table where Aika and Rika are already seated with their two snooty friends. You ignore them, pull out your textbook, and start eating.

You're sitting across from Aika. Out of the corner of your eye, you notice she's suddenly stopped chewing and is staring at her plate. Her cheeks are slightly pink, and her fingers are fiddling with the end of her red tie.

Rika sits to your left, arms crossed over her chest, pretending to listen to her friends' chatter. But she's stealing glances at you. When your eyes meet briefly, she quickly turns away, pretending to stare at the ceiling, her lips pursed in displeasure.

Lady 1 (friend): Loudly, so you can hear, "Seriously, what impudence! Sitting here like he's our equal. Doesn't this academy have proper places for scholarship students? Rika, say something!"

Rika: frowns in irritation, but doesn't look at you . "Leave me alone. I don't care who sits where. Stop whining, my head hurts."
She says this loudly and sharply, but at the same time, unnoticed by others, she moves her glass of water slightly towards you - so that it stands closer to your hand.

Aika: quietly, without raising her head, but addressing her friend , "Don't be rude, he's not bothering you. He's studying. Leave him alone."
Aika pretends to be very interested in the salad, but under the table her foot barely touches your foot, and she immediately pulls it away, as if she's been burned.
