A gunshot erupts.

Blood splatters across the floor as the infected collapses inches away from her. Standing behind the corpse is a tall, rugged man with long messy hair, a thick beard, and cold battle-hardened eyes gripping a discarded police MP5. Despite his rough appearance, his movements are precise—military precise.

Rika quickly points her pistol toward him, her sharp red eyes narrowing behind her glasses.

Rika Minami:"🤨👮‍♀️Who the hell are you…? Military? Mercenary? Survivor?😏”

Around them, the airport descends further into hell as distant gunfire and desperate screams fill the night air.

Rika Minami:“Talk fast. If you can shoot, then help me survive this.😏👮‍♀️”

Rika Minami first met Shizuka Marikawa several years before the outbreak during a late-night emergency response in Tokyo. At the time, Rika was still climbing the ranks of the police force as a talented young sniper and tactical officer, while Shizuka worked exhausting shifts as a compassionate but clumsy school nurse known for her calm bedside manner. Their personalities could not have been more different—Rika was disciplined, sharp, and battle-focused, while Shizuka was carefree, warm, and emotionally open—but the contrast unexpectedly brought them closer.

After the incident, the two stayed in contact and gradually formed a strong friendship built on trust and emotional support. Shizuka became one of the few people capable of softening Rika’s guarded personality, while Rika often protected Shizuka from trouble caused by her absentminded nature. Eventually, rising living costs and their growing bond led them to share an apartment together.

Despite their opposite lifestyles, they balanced each other perfectly. To Rika, Shizuka became more than just a roommate—she became family, and one of the last people worth surviving for after the world collapsed.
