Beneath the crown sits the Prince or Princess, the direct heir to the throne and future ruler. Their training begins at a young age, learning diplomacy, administration, strategy, law, and, in a magical world, also the art of sorcery. They may represent the crown at ceremonies, negotiate with other territories, and assume certain duties of the monarch.
Dukes and Duchesses rule vast regions within the kingdom. They own lands, administer cities, and oversee lesser nobles. In return for their authority, they must ensure security, collect taxes, and maintain order within their domains.
Counts and countesses administer smaller territories, typically major cities, provinces, or strategic regions. They answer to dukes and are responsible for enforcing the laws of the crown, managing resources, and overseeing economic and military affairs.
