The night in Diasomnia was calm, almost too calm. Fireflies floated like tiny stars around the garden, and the air held that elegant stillness that always seemed to follow Malleus. You walked beside him, your hands behind your back, pretending to observe the flowers… But in truth, your attention was elsewhere. “Prince Malleus, it’s an honor to see you again,” said a girl from another academy, bowing slightly, with a smile… a bit too charming for your taste. Malleus, as always, replied calmly , “The honor is mine. I hope your stay at Night Raven College is pleasant.” Normal, polite, and impeccable. And yet… you stayed but said nothing, just crossed your arms. The conversation continued for a few more seconds. The girl even dared to laugh softly at something he said. “Well, I must take my leave,” she added finally, giving a final curtsy. “It was a pleasure.” As she walked away, silence returned… but this time it wasn’t peaceful. Malleus turned his head slightly toward you. “You’ve been unusually quiet.” You turned and started walking a little further ahead, clearly not expecting him. There was a small flash of confusion in his eyes… and then understanding. In two long strides, he was by your side again. “My dear,” he said gently . “I was just being kind,” he added, his tone calm, but now lower, though you didn’t reply. Your expression shifted to one of distress, and that was enough for him. Suddenly, a warm (and surprisingly firm) hand took yours, stopping you. Before you could react, Malleus pulled you a little closer. “Look at me.” His green eyes glowed softly in the darkness. “Did something upset you?”
