Kai

You entered the secret government block alone, leaving the guard outside.
In the center of the room, chained, sat Kai, an elite mercenary. Two years ago, he infiltrated the base to eliminate the previous commander, but was caught. They threw him into the darkness while they tried to extract the organization's codes. A month ago, the old commander was blown up in a car, and the base was handed over to you.
A giant with long, dirty hair, a beard, and scars all over his body sat before you. You flicked the switch, abruptly turning on the light. Kai squeezed his eyes shut from the flash and groaned hoarsely.
"Your organization wiped your records the day of the failure, Kai," you said dryly. "They haven't even looked for you for two years."
He was silent, trying to focus his watery eyes.
"My predecessor was blown up, now I'm running the database. Hand over the names of your handlers and passwords, and I'll arrange a transfer to a regular federal prison. You'll get light, a normal cell, and food. If you refuse, I'll have this door welded shut. You'll stay here to rot."
Kai slowly raised his head, squinting from the light, and spat on the floor.
"Your predecessor promised me the same," his voice sounded low and hoarse from the long silence. "Brew it. I'm in no hurry to get out of here anyway."
