Demon Scientists. Tamayo is a rare example of a demon who abandoned killing and dedicated herself to science. She sought a way to regain her humanity and studied demon physiology.
Muzan. The absolute pinnacle of the hierarchy: he controls all demons, can sense their deaths, and even issue orders remotely. His power is so great that even all the Hashira combined must fight at their maximum capacity.
A connection between past and present. Many demons are distorted reflections of hunters: they too have attachments, tragedies, and motives. This complicates the moral decisions of the slayers, but does not eliminate the need to fight.

Hierarchy: Twelve Demon Moons (Kizuki)
These are the elite of Muzan's army - the twelve most powerful demons, divided into two groups:
The Higher Moons (Jogen) are the six most powerful. They have markings in both pupils: one indicates their rank (from 1 to 6), the other the inscription "Higher."
The Lower Moons (Kagen) are six more, less powerful. They have a mark in only one eye.
Ranks are not permanent: if a demon is killed, another takes its place. For the fighters, defeating Luna is a huge achievement and a serious blow to Muzan's forces.

Blood Demon Art (Kekkijutsu)
These are unique abilities that powerful demons develop over time. They rely on the manipulation of their own blood and flesh and often have very specific effects:
Enmu has the ability to induce sleep and control dreams.
Gyokko creates pots, needles, and changes position between vessels.
Daki turns his belts into sharp blades.
Hantengu splits into several forms, each of which embodies a separate emotion.
The Art of Demonic Blood makes each powerful demon a unique opponent, forcing hunters to develop new tactics each time.
How a Demon's Power Grows
The strength of a demon depends on several factors:

The number of people consumed. The more victims, the stronger the demon. People with rare blood types and young women are especially prized—their flesh provides a particularly strong boost in strength.
Muzan's Blood. Small doses can dramatically strengthen a demon, but large doses are dangerous: Muzan's blood is highly toxin-intensive and can kill a weak demon.
Experience and training. Strong demons learn to better control their abilities, combine techniques, and exploit their surroundings.
Specific types and examples of demons
Loners. Many demons act on their own, wreaking havoc in villages and towns.
Family groups. For example, the "spider family" led by Rui—they operated as a single unit, with each family member fulfilling their own role.

The demons in "Kimetsu no Yaiba" are creatures that feed on human flesh. Their progenitor and creator is Muzan Kibutsuji: it is his blood that has the power to transform people into demons. But not everyone is transformed: weak people simply die, while those who survive gain superhuman abilities.
Often, people become demons out of despair or under pressure from circumstances: Muzan promises power and relief from suffering, but in return condemns them to eternal hunting by fighters and dependence on human blood.
Physiology and General Abilities
All demons have a basic set of superpowers:

Regeneration. Even serious wounds heal almost instantly, rendering conventional weapons useless.
Super strength and speed. A demon is much stronger and faster than an ordinary human, and for powerful demons, these attributes are completely beyond human comprehension.
Enhanced senses. Demons' hearing, sight, and sense of smell are much more acute: they can hear a pulse, smell blood from afar, and detect the slightest movement.
Body control. Demons can alter the shape of their flesh: create claws, blades, tentacles, armor, conceal wounds, and even grow extra limbs.
Immortality (conditional). Demons do not age and can live for hundreds of years, but they can be killed by special means.

Demon Weaknesses
Despite their strength, demons have critical vulnerabilities that underpin all fighter tactics:
Sunlight. This is their main weakness. Even a weak ray of sunlight can burn a normal demon to ashes. This is why they are active at night and hide during the day.
Nichirin Blades. Swords forged from "scarlet sand" and "scarlet ore" that absorb sunlight. Only with them can one reliably decapitate a demon.
Wisteria. Its scent is unpleasant and dangerous to demons: wisteria is used as a repellent and even as a poison. For example, Shinobu uses wisteria-based poisons to compensate for her lack of physical strength.

Kagaya looks much weaker than someone expected to lead an entire army of fighters: he's frail, pale, and moves with difficulty. His face and part of his head are covered in patterns—the remains of a curse that has haunted his family for centuries. Due to illness, he has almost completely lost his sight, yet he still stands upright and calm.
He usually wears a dark kimono and a white haori with a delicate pattern; his appearance is deliberately understated—no ostentatious power, only dignity and silence. His wife, Amane, is almost always by his side: she assists him, but doesn't overshadow him, becoming a kind of extension of his will.
Kagaya calls all the fighters "his children"—and these aren't just nice words. He remembers the names of even the rank-and-file fighters, knows which of them recently lost a partner, who's working especially hard, and who's afraid of letting the team down. For you, given your interest in the ranks and hierarchy of the hunters, here's what's important: the Oyakata's strength isn't in his sword, but in how he harnesses the power of others.
He's incredibly tactful: he speaks in a way that makes even the most stubborn Hashira (like Sanemi) listen without losing their temper. He seems to have a special tone of voice that soothes and compels attention. At the same time, he doesn't soften the edges: if necessary, he'll gently but firmly remind you of duty and responsibility.
Another of his traits is a profound sense of duty to the past and the future. He knows his days are numbered, and so he strives to ensure that every step he takes will make the Corps stronger even without him.

Aoi is a girl approximately 162 cm tall, with a composed and serious appearance. She has straight black hair, braided into two neat pigtails, secured with blue butterfly-shaped hair clips. Her eyes are dark blue, with an unusual detail: the pupils are white rectangles, giving her gaze a particularly expressive look.
She wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform with a slight blue tint, and at the Manor, she often tops it with a white medical gown with short sleeves and a blue sash tied in a bow at the front. This look immediately makes it clear that her primary role is no longer combat, but helping others.
Character
Aoi appears strict and even a little harsh: she dislikes unnecessary fuss, quickly reprimands those who behave irresponsibly (like Zenitsu), and maintains discipline in the Estate. But behind this firmness lies a deep caring spirit: she sincerely worries about every wounded hunter and does everything she can to ensure their return to duty as quickly as possible.
Support instead of frontline. Aoi passed the Final Selection and is technically a full-fledged Slayer, but instead of constant missions, she chose the role of assistant at the Estate—and this isn't a weakness, but a conscious choice.
Medicine and recovery. Under Shinobu's guidance, she learned to prepare simple medicines, understand herbs, and organize the recovery of fighters. She participates in reaction training, massages, and reflex training—and does it all in a way that makes every hunter feel truly cared for.
A support system for the younger children. Aoi looks after Sumi, Kiyo, Naho, and the other girls at the estate, helping them settle in and feel at ease. She's practically an older sister to them, ready to scold them and offer a hug when needed.
Medical knowledge. She knows how to prepare basic herbal formulas, properly treat wounds, and design recovery regimens. This is critical: even strong fighters like Tanjiro and Inosuke wouldn't be able to return to combat so quickly without such support.

Kanao is a short girl with thin black hair pulled back into a ponytail on the right side. Her hair is adorned with a butterfly clip: at first, it belonged to Kanae, but she later adopted Shinobu's. Kanao has large, dark lilac eyes that seem to convey both fragility and intense composure.
She wears a light purple version of the standard fighter uniform, but instead of a hakama, she wears a pleated knee-length skirt. Over this, she wears a short white haori and white lace-up boots. Overall, her look is neat and put together, as if she's always ready for battle but doesn't want to stand out.
Character
At the beginning of the story, Kanao shows little emotion and barely speaks: her past has greatly affected her ability to make decisions. To cope with this, Kanae gave her a coin—Kanao would flip it when she had to decide what to do.
She is very attached to the family from Butterfly Estate and worries about everyone she cares about.
She also has cute little things: for example, she likes to blow bubbles and buy sweets for everyone in the estate. It's like her way of showing she cares without saying anything.
Part of the Butterfly Estate, Kanao doesn't just live there—she actively helps out: she participates in training, supports others, and constantly hones her own skills.
Abilities and fighting style
"Flower Breath." Kanao mastered this style by observing Kanae and perfected it to a very high level. These are graceful, precise strikes aimed at vulnerable points.
Superhuman vision. She can detect the slightest movements: muscle tension, joint shifts, even the slightest twitch of an opponent's eyes. Thanks to this, Kanao can predict attacks and counterattack almost instantly.
Body control. She can even control things like her breathing and heart rate to avoid being exposed and harmed by certain demonic techniques.
Speed ​​and reaction. Kanao moves very quickly, but not in a "brute" way, but rather through perfect precision and timing.

Shinobu is a petite girl, standing approximately 151 cm tall, with a delicate and graceful appearance. She has shoulder-length hair that shades from black to dark purple, usually styled in a yakai-maki style and secured with a white and purple butterfly clip.
Shinobu's eyes are unusual: they lack distinct pupils, and the irises smoothly shift in hue—from light purple to a deep, smoky dark. This gives her gaze an almost insect-like quality, which perfectly complements her fighting style.
She wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform and over it a white haori with a butterfly wing pattern: this is her sister Kanae's thing, and for Shinobu it is not just clothing, but a symbol of connection with her family.
Character
At first glance, Shinobu seems easygoing, cheerful, and even a little playful: she smiles often, loves to joke around with her colleagues (for example, she might tell Giyu Tomioka that everyone hates him), and has a relaxed demeanor. But behind that smile lies a sharp mind, iron discipline, and immense inner composure.
She combines two roles: doctor and fighter. As a healer, she is incredibly attentive to detail, patient, and able to gently but firmly compel people to comply with treatment. As a Pillar, she is extremely demanding of herself and her students (especially Kanao), and does not allow herself to show weakness in battle.
Shinobu doesn't rely on brute force, however: she compensates for her lack of physical strength with speed, precision, and thoughtfulness in every move.
Insect Pillar. Shinobu has developed a unique fighting style that perfectly suits her build and personality.
A physician and recovery supervisor. At Butterfly Estate, she is responsible for treatment, treatment selection, and returning soldiers to combat. She has a better understanding of herbs, poisons, and demon physiology than almost anyone in the Corps.
"Insect Breath" is her unique technique, which evolved from "Flower Breath." It is a style of quick, precise strikes, designed not to cut off the head, but to inject poison into the enemy's body.
Wisteria Poison. Shinobu uses a specially developed poison that is deadly to demons.

Butterfly Manor is a cozy and meticulously appointed base in the world of Demon Slayer Blade, run by Kanae and Shinobu Kocho. More than just a home, it's a vital stronghold for demon slayers: it treats the wounded, helps them recover from tough battles, and conducts specialized training to get them back into shape.

Appearance and territory
The estate resembles a traditional Japanese mansion in a tranquil, secluded location, surrounded by a garden. The garden is abundant with flowers, and nearby grows the "Victory Tree"—a cherry blossom tree that has become a symbol of hope and strength. Butterflies seem naturally drawn to this spot, and can often be seen circling the paths and flowerbeds—hence the name.
Inside the estate
Recovery rooms. Spacious, bright rooms where wounded hunters are provided with peace and care. Everything is designed to allow them to calmly recuperate for as long as they need.
Shinobu's office. Here she keeps records, prepares medicinal concoctions, and develops recovery plans for each guest. There are many shelves filled with herbs, vials, and reference books.
A gym and outdoor playground. A space for gentle yet effective exercises that help restore endurance, coordination, and confidence.
A shared living room and dining room. A warm place where everyone gathers: discussing business, sharing stories, and simply relaxing. It always smells of tea and freshly baked goods, and the atmosphere helps you unwind quickly.
Life on the estate
Kanae and Shinobu set the tone for life at the estate. Kanae is responsible for the overall mood: she knows how to support, encourage, and find the right words to restore confidence even after a difficult battle. Shinobu, in turn, oversees treatment and discipline, but does so without excessive strictness—more like a caring older sister.
Others live and help out at the estate with them: Kanao, Aoi, Sumi, Kiyo, and others. Everyone takes on a part in the chores—some tend the garden, some help with training, some keep order.

Kanae survived the fight with Douma and lives in the Butterfly Mansion with Shinobu Kocho (sister), Kanao Tsyuri, Aoi Kanzaki, and other assistants.

Kanae is a Hashiro, the Flower Pillar. She is a tall, slender woman with long, straight, hip-length black hair. On the sides of her hair are clips in the shape of pink butterflies. She has light lilac eyes and pale skin. She wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, over which she wears a white haori with a pattern resembling butterfly wings; this garment was later inherited by Shinobu.

Kanae was kind and almost always smiling. Yet she wasn't just gentle: in critical moments, she could show firmness and encourage her loved ones to fight to the end. She held a dream unusual for a demon slayer: she believed that humans and demons could one day live in peace.

"Flower Breathing" is her unique fighting style, derived from "Water Breathing." Only Kanao was able to master it; Shinobu used it to create her own "Insect Breathing," better suited to her physical attributes.
