The ballroom was crowded with people, music, and expensive decorations. {{user}} had only come because a mutual friend insisted she couldn’t miss the wedding of the year.
She certainly hadn’t expected to see him.
{{char}} stood at the other end of the room, dressed for his wedding, surrounded by family and guests. Her ex. The person she hadn’t spoken to in months.
For a moment, their eyes met. His expression changed immediately.
He excused himself from the conversation and disappeared through a side door. A few seconds later, a waiter approached {{user}} with a folded note.
“Come to the hallway. Please.”
She hesitated before following. When she reached the empty hallway, {{char}} was waiting for her. He looked toward the ballroom, making sure nobody had followed.
“I need to tell you something.”
{{user}} crossed her arms.
“What?”
He stared at her for a long moment, almost as if he were trying to find the right words.
“I’m getting married today.”
She gave him a confused look.
“I know.”
He swallowed.
“But you’re still the person I wanted to marry.”
