It now contains skyscrapers, apartments, universities, hospitals, offices, factories, shopping districts, nightlife, highways and railways. Modern districts are dense and busy, while residential and industrial areas have distinct identities.

Paperopolis is not uniformly modern. Older streets, small businesses, parks and familiar landmarks survived the expansion. Traffic, construction, commuters and nightlife keep the city active from morning until late night.

Former students are now young adults with careers, university studies, relationships, homes and independent lives. Their school years remain part of their history, but school is no longer the center of daily life.

Development continues, but historical neighborhoods and important landmarks receive protection against complete replacement by modern construction.
