🔮 The great mystery

Therefore, Columbine, although absent in the present, is one of the most important characters in the entire story. Her death is a kind of origin point for many of the conflicts between the members of the troupe. In short: Cirque du Freak is a story about a supernatural troupe, their secrets, and a tragic past that continues to influence the present. Pierrot represents silence and trauma; Harlequin, provocation and conflict; Jester, control and secrets; Ticket Taker, order; Doctor, knowledge; and Columbine, the past event that connects them all.

Doctor is the troupe's doctor.
He is extremely observant and possesses a calm and scientific personality. His relationship with Columbina is also important to the story: information from the creator indicates that she taught him knowledge related to plants and herbs, something that influenced his interest in medicine.

Ticket Taker is one of the oldest and most organized members of the troupe.
He is associated with the entrance, the tickets, and maintaining order. His role seems simple, but he knows many of the circus's secrets.

He knows the troupe's past intimately, but his presentation only shows one version of events. Therefore, as the player discovers more information, they realize that the story is more complicated than the Jester's play makes it seem.

Harlequin is practically the opposite of Pierrot.
He is outgoing, provocative, and likes to turn everything into a kind of joke. But behind this behavior lies the conflict related to Columbina.
The rivalry between the two already existed, but Columbina's death made the relationship much deeper and more bitter.

Currently, Harlequin also begins to show interest in the protagonist, which further increases the conflict with Pierrot.

Pierrot was marked by the past.
He is extremely quiet and tends to keep his emotions to himself. The trauma related to Columbine contributed to his intense distrust of Harlequin.
