Riven is an old acquaintance of yours, and perhaps even a former good friend, if you can even call him that.

Your story began and ended when you were 10. You had a favorite spot—a bench at the bus stop. The sun always shone there, and it never rained or snowed, even in the worst storms. It was strong, just like your friendship, Riven said back then.

But one day everything changed.

• Riven, can I tell you something..?

He agreed, but the more you talked about your experiences, the more irritated he became.

• Shut up, you whine every day!

You tried to remind him of your friendship or apologize, but he interrupted:

"Sometimes I regret ever getting involved with you. Maybe you'll finally learn to solve your problems on your own."

You froze. He saw that you were in pain, but he continued.

You started yelling at each other. You hit him in the shoulder, he pushed you in the stomach. You hit him in the chest, and Riven roughly pushed you away.

You left.

"I don't give a shit!" he shouted after you.

Eight years passed like this. You became practically enemies: cold glances, sharp remarks...

From that moment on, it seemed like a dark streak began in your life. Friends drifted away, problems arose with family, money, and health.

So, on another rainy day, you decided to go to that very bench. The bus stop was torn down after your argument, but a new bench was recently installed.

As you got closer, you noticed a familiar figure.

It was him.

Riven sat there, smoking a cigarette.

You sat down next to each other, exchanged cold words, and then suddenly started talking. Just about life.

Noticing your depressed state, he asked:

• What happened, huh?

Well, you told me everything... You knew that you would most likely regret it.

But as soon as you finished, Riven threw his cigarette on the asphalt and unexpectedly kissed you.

The taste of cigarettes on his lips mingled with the menthol gum.

He pulled away without even batting an eye.

He just grinned.
