He stripped all the previous pillars of their power and confiscated their abilities except for one before disappearing, creating a dwelling place for what would later be known as the Hall of Death. [3] Another byproduct of the creation of this world was a new history; while the previous world took place around the year 2250 before its renewal, [4] the events that took place afterward suggested that a new history exists in some way. Ancient history

In ancient times, it was believed that the first weapon, the spear, originated in Africa. [6] Since the beginning of civilization, numerous civilizations and periods have come and gone, including the ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks, the latter also involved during the Hellenistic period. [6] In the time of the Greeks, warriors known as Spartoi were said to have sprung from the teeth of a dragon and were tasked with banishing madness.

The Soul Eater universe is a dark fantasy world with a gothic aesthetic where humans transform into weapons to fight evil. Shibusen Academy: Central Institution: It was created by Shinigami-sama (the God of Death) to protect the Earth. Main Objective: To train young "meisters" and their partners who can take the form of weapons. Mission: To hunt the souls of evil humans and witches to prevent the birth of a Kishin (a demon god of madness). Rules and Magic: Soul Resonance: Meisters and their weapons synchronize their soul vibrations to increase their power in combat. Death Scythe: This is the maximum rank a weapon can reach after devouring 99 criminal souls and 1 witch soul. The Environment: The world is notable for its surreal style, where inanimate objects like the sun and moon have expressive and dynamic faces.
The new world was created by Shinra Kusakabe while resonating with members of his family, one of whom possessed the Adolla Burst (making them known as Pillars) and adopted the Shinrabanshōman transformation. During its initial creation, Shinra created a time loop to recreate everything, as it took him several attempts, and resurrected everyone who died in previous events and cataclysms, allowing them the opportunity to live a new life and/or continue their existence in the reformed reality. [2] Reality changes include a supreme god who governs life and death, creatures of more fantastical origins, the existence of powerful souls (including those who were considered strong fighters in the Old World), and Inca Kasugatani, who became one of the first witches in this reality, if not the first. [2][3][1]

Special skills

Full Weapon Transformation (全身武器, Zenshin Buki): As a demon weapon, Patty is able to transform into her weapon form. Unlike other weapons, when synchronized with Liz, Patty can utilize the transformation powers to quickly evade her sister's grasp and vice versa.[2]

Demon Twin Guns (二丁魔拳銃, Nichō Makenjū): A weapon form that appears as a silver-themed Beretta M9 pistol, compresses the wavelength of its Meister and fires shots at an opponent. Its power depends on the Meister using the weapon form.[35]
Marksmanship (銃撃技, Jūgeki Waza): Although Sid describes her style as chaotic and disheveled and exhibits inconsistencies in grip and form, she is surprisingly accurate when firing at targets at a descending range[36] and is a capable weapon-type master when using her sister's weapon form through a link.[37] She was able to easily defend herself against mummies with accurate shots.[2]

Hand-to-hand combat (Taijutsu): Although she is a weapon, Patty is capable of unarmed combat, much to the surprise of her classmates, who commented that her ability was never revealed due to being overshadowed by Kid, and she impressed Mira Naigus. She was able to fight five opponents in a row, including Ox Ford, Harvar, Kirikou, and Kim without stopping, while taking a surprise victory from Black☆Star due to her dirty fighting.[38]

Dexterity and balance: Patty is able to hold a basketball on one finger.

Both Patty and Liz collect and store souls inside their gun-shaped magazines.
Patty appears to be ambidextrous; she uses her right hand to draw or write and shoots with her left hand.
Patty and Liz's last name is a reference to the infamous Thompson submachine gun used by gangsters in the 1920s and 30s.

In her Spartoi uniform, Patty wears a zip-up top over a blue vest and a high-collared jacket, just like Liz. She keeps her puffy shorts but replaces her cowboy hat with one that has floppy "ears" on either side. After her transition to Spartoi, Patty generally retains a hat, while Liz does not.

When Patty transforms into a child upon entering the Book of Eibon, he is shown to have shorter hair covered by a hat. He also looks slightly more like his psychotic self, as his eyes appear somewhat more unhinged than in his female form. He wears a white jacket and shirt with dark trousers, similar to Liz. The only difference is that Patty has the Spartoi logo on his left shoulder and a large Shinigami skull emblazoned on his back.

When she accompanies Kid to Lost Island for the second time, Patty wears boots with thick fur trim, a thick hooded jacket with similar fur trim, tight winter pants, mittens with DWMA skull logos, and a winter cap with two symmetrical bobs on top decorated to resemble skull faces. Liz wears the same outfit, except her skull cap has only one bob.[33]

Additional official artwork shows Patty in a variety of outfits, including as a nurse[22] or in a light bikini.

After joining Spirit Albarn and Sid Barrett to confront Risa and Arisa with accusations that they are witches, Patty and Liz wear unbuttoned dress shirts with vertical pleats along the front, along with their black armbands. While Liz wore a long, dark business skirt, Patty wore dark shorts secured with a belt.[16]

During their infiltration of Baba Yaga's castle, Liz and Patty initially wore their usual attire at the time—sweaters with high collars and ties—but with the addition of a thick, long-sleeved jacket with four buttons down the front.[29][30] With Eruka Frog's help, they donned arachnophobia robes over their outfits, but somehow managed to find and change into maid outfits, consisting of dark dresses, dark ribbon ties, ribboned shoes, and light-colored maid aprons and hats. They maintained these outfits for the remainder of their mission to infiltrate Baba Yaga's castle, even while wearing arachnophobia robes over them.
After Arachnophobia's defeat, but before the formation of Spartoi, Patty accompanied Maka and Liz to the Death City basketball court to discuss Kid's kidnapping by Noah. Patty, Liz, and Maka wore similar outfits: a checkered skirt and a dress shirt. Patty's was buttoned up and her tie was neatly buttoned, and like Maka, she also wore a D-City sweater (which resembled Meme Tatane's sweater).

Before being released from probation, Patty, like her sister at the time, wore a DWMA location monitoring bracelet, with a skull logo resembling Death's mask.[24] When not working at Deathbucks, she wore a sleeveless top and jeans.[24][25]

When working at Deathbucks Café, Patty wore the standard waitress outfit, which consisted of a short skirt and a skull-shaped tiara. For Halloween, she added a Jack O'Lantern hat, even in combat.[25][26]

In their initial missions as children's weapons, Patty and Liz wore cowgirl outfits: a tight-fitting, red, sleeveless, high-necked shirt with a white tie, a cowboy hat, and black high-heeled boots. However, unlike Liz, Patty wore bubble shorts. There was also a subtle difference in their hats. Liz's hat had brims that angled forward, while Patty's had brims that were in a perfect curve. From their mission to the Ghost Ship Nidhogg until their mission to the Seven Borscht Factory, both sisters also wore white jackets over these outfits. Patty and Liz would revert to these outfits, without the jackets, after returning from the Moon so Kid could go to the Witch Kingdom, and they would continue to wear these outfits during Kid's coronation as the new head of the DWMA.
While traveling through the Sahara Desert to investigate the Runaway Express, Patty and Liz wore long tan-colored cloaks and bandanas over their mouths to protect them from the hot desert sun.[27]

After the murder of Joe Buttataki, Patty, along with other members of DWMA, wore a black armband on his left bicep.

Patty appears to be physically older than Kid, Black☆Star, Soul, and Maka. She has chin-length, bright blonde hair with bangs and light blue eyes. Liz is taller and thinner than Patty: upon their arrival in Death City, Liz is 170 centimeters (about 5 feet 7 inches) tall, while Patty is 160 centimeters (about 5 feet 3 inches).[20] Patty's breasts are also much larger than her sister's, despite being the younger of the two, and these and other physical differences between the sisters annoy their master, Kid, as it makes the sisters appear asymmetrical in their human forms.

Like Liz, Patty's soul is pink in color and has two curved triangles resembling the corners of her hat, which was part of her initial outfit as a child's weapon.[21]

In her demon gun form, Patty has an appearance identical to Liz's, that of a silver-themed Beretta M9 pistol. The grip on the handle is black and has a small death mask. On the sliding assembly are three darker silver triangles side by side, resembling teeth. Patty and Liz collect souls by drawing them into the gun's magazine, and they fire a master's compressed wavelength instead of bullets; such compressed wavelengths appear pink as they fire.[21]

When she lived on the streets of New York, Patty wore a sleeveless top with thin straps and pants with a worn stain on the right knee.[21][22] When Kid offered to take her and Liz along as his partners in crime, she wore a sleeveless top with a button-down collar and jeans. In Liz's dreams about Patty, she takes on a more childlike appearance, wearing an oversized plaid apron dress with a ribbon tie, an arm-length white shirt, dark tights, light dress shoes, and a large bow on the left side of her head.

She appears naive and simple-minded, seemingly not taking life seriously. While Patty possessed these traits before moving to Deathbucks City, such as being delighted that Kid referred to her and Liz as beautiful,[14] or patting the butts of people she robbed,[15] this simplicity was far more violent and nefarious. Over time, while working at Deathbucks Café, Patty spent her free time constructing a dragon sculpture out of napkins and scaring Tsugumi Harudori in her ghost Halloween costume. When taking an important written exam, instead of answering questions, Patty pulled out crayons and began making an origami giraffe out of her exam papers, then "broke its neck." When showering, she rubs so much shampoo into her hair that it foams all over her body.[16] She also seems fascinated by the smallest details, such as children's alphabet books[15] or a hair clip.[16] She laughs frequently, even when something bad is happening. For example, when Kid laments his asymmetry and says that he "wants to die", Patty responds laughing: "Kya ha ha! ♪"[17] and, on other occasions when he is depressed, even poking him with a stick.[18]

On the rare occasions when she loses her temper, her childlike personality is replaced by an almost crazed rage, as if her personality reverts to how she behaved as a criminal in Brooklyn. Her behavior can be so terrifying that it frightens Kid, even to the point of risking running through an asymmetrical minefield of the tadpole bomb. It remains unclear whether these qualities constitute her own form of madness.
When faced with serious issues and dangerous situations, Patty's childlike naiveté is replaced by a more serious demeanor, suggesting that her bubbly personality may be a mask or simply how she chooses to act. Upon learning that Kim Diehl was afraid of the Academy due to accusations, she becomes even more concerned with her own behavior.

She is a demonic weapon and the younger sister of Elizabeth Thompson.[8] Known as one of the "Brooklyn Devils," she and Liz were petty thugs until they were found by their current master and reaper, Death the Kid. Over time, she reformed and became Kid's partner in arms, eventually also becoming a student at the Death Weapon Master Academy with Class EAT.
Patty acts and speaks like a toddler, often using a sing-song voice. She pronounces words like "hello" and "sorry" as a child would "hoo-hoo" and "sow-hoo," and appears to still be learning about simple things like assigning animal noises to the correct animal.[11] This childlike disposition can lead her to seem nosy or insensitive, such as when she boldly asks if Crona is a boy or a girl.[12] However, it is possible that concepts beyond the extremely basic have not been explained to her due to her generally childlike behavior and inability to understand many things, as exemplified by Liz praising her for simply guessing animal names.[13] This lack of knowledge may be due to her growing up on the streets and presumably not having had a formal education.
Her current personality differs from the seemingly aggressive one she had during her time in Brooklyn, developing after meeting Kid. Unlike her sister Liz, Patty enjoys the drama caused by Kid's perfectionism; however, she encourages him when he gets discouraged about it.

History

Born to an unknown woman who was known as the prettiest prostitute in New York City, Liz and her younger sister, Patricia, were abandoned at a young age.[23] Both sisters learned to use their shapeshifting powers as demonic weapons, employing them to commit crimes in order to support themselves financially and protect themselves from other criminals.[24] One of their other tactics, besides using themselves as demonic guns to rob others, involved sleeping gunpowder.[25] Their notoriety earned them the nickname the "Brooklyn Devils." Their crimes even attracted the attention of the DWMA, including one of its prominent members, Death the Kid.[26][27]

Upon encountering Kid, a drugged Liz used Patty's demonic gun form in an attempt to blackmail and rob him, failing and unaware that he was a Desmor Reaper.[28] However, Liz and Patty seemed to leave an impression on Kid, as he learned that the sisters could transform into symmetrical weapons.[29] When Liz and Patty were cornered by gang members, Kid saved them, revealed himself to be a Death God, and offered to take them as his comrades in arms "to build a perfect world." Conspiring with Patty, Liz plotted to steal Kid's status and wealth, particularly motivated by providing Patty with a more stable life off the streets. Kid took Liz and Patty to Death City, where they were taken into DWMA custody and placed on parole for their crimes.

Special skills

Demon Twins (二丁魔拳銃, Ni-chō Makenjū): Liz has the power to transform into one of the two Demon Twins, in which she resembles a silver-themed Beretta M9 pistol. With this transformation, she has a wide array of abilities for her Meister to utilize.[1]
Wavelength Control (波長コンントロール, Hachō Kontorōru): As a demonic weapon, Liz is able to control her master's wavelength.[1]
Wavelength Compression (波長圧縮, Hachō Asshuku): According to Liz's own admission, the twin demon gun does not fire regular bullets and has the ability to compress the wavelength of its Meister shots.[20]
Pistoler-Type Meister (銃型職人, Jū-gata Shokunin): Liz is particularly skilled with the use of a weapon, namely, the transformation of her sister's twin pistol. She controls her sister due to the bond that comes from the resonance between relatives.[1] While controlling her sister, she applies many of her dirty fighting tactics and exploits the advantages of using a weapon as a weapon.[21]

Shooting Skills (銃撃技, Jūgeki Waza): A skilled weapon user, Liz is a skilled marksman.[1]

Liz has dirty blonde hair that reaches halfway down her back, dark blue eyes, and fair skin. Although she is taller and older than Patty, she has a smaller bust.[12] During their initial missions with Kid, both Liz and Patty wear cowgirl outfits: tight-fitting, sleeveless, red turtleneck shirts with white ties, cowboy hats, and black high-heeled boots. However, unlike Patty, Liz wears dark-wash jeans and two silver bracelets on each wrist. There is also a subtle difference in their hats. Patty's hat has rounded brims, while Liz's hat has brims that curve forward. In the anime, as the series progresses, both Thompson sisters wear short white jackets over their outfits. Liz's soul is pink and has two curved triangles representing her hat.

When she "studies" for the super written exam (mostly post-processing it), she changes into a purple business outfit with a headband, brushing her hair, two pairs of heels, and a pair of reading glasses. This is known as her "smart girl transformation." Her glasses haven't been seen again for the rest of the series, so it's still unclear whether she needs them for reading or not. That said, they are referred to as "fashion glasses" or "look glasses" in the manga. However, she is shown to be smart enough to pass the exam without studying as much as the others, scoring higher than Patty, Black☆Star, and even Death the Kid, who, admittedly, couldn't even spell his own name.

She is a Demon Weapon, the older sister of Patricia Thompson and Death the Kid's partner within Shibusen. Formerly known, along with Patty, as the Brooklyn Demons (ブルックリンの悪魔, Burukkurin no Akuma), both were found by Death the Kid who took them with him.
Personality

While Patty is very childish, Liz is very moody and more like a stereotypical teenager (concerned with makeup, shopping, appearance, etc.).[10] Despite mostly being the cool and serious one of the sisters, she is shown to be very afraid of paranormal things, convinced that any ghost she encounters is ready to eat her (her paranoia severely irritating the ghosts trying to help her). She can also be somewhat cynical, jaded, and superficial at times (but not always), and sometimes takes advantage of other people for her own benefit, such as when she pretends Tsubaki's kitchen is hers to impress a boy she likes. She can be flirtatious and charming with men, mainly to deceive them (as shown when she cheats on Giriko alongside Patty).

Both Liz and Patty admire Kid's dignified soul because they come from the streets.[11] Unlike Patty, Liz finds the drama caused by Kid's perfectionist attitude annoying. Furthermore, Patty adores her and thinks Liz knows everything.
She is the older and more mature of the two sisters. Kid's obsession with symmetry and how he lets it control his life sometimes gets on her nerves, and she frequently reprimands him for it, though she won't hesitate to cheer him up when he's feeling down. She also displays resourcefulness, courage, and determination whenever her friends are in danger, and she does everything she can to protect them.

Kid has tried dyeing his hair to make it completely symmetrical, but sanzu lines appear moments later. This is because his Shinigami body rejects all forms of toxins and chemicals, including artificial colors like hair dye.
According to Mosquito, Kid has blood type D.
While most Meisters choose their own comrades-in-arms, in the anime alone, Kid's father and Spirit sat him down and offered him a long list of pre-chosen comrades-in-arms (all of whom were female), in a manner resembling an arranged marriage. Kid refused all of them as his shape is completely asymmetrical, and later encountered Liz and Patty, who once tried to rob him and he later went to rescue them from a mob. During the mob chase, Kid noticed that Liz's weapon shape was exactly the same as Patty's, which he had witnessed during their attempted mugging earlier, and thus chose them because they were perfectly symmetrical.
Kid's obsession with symmetry seems to extend to numbers as well, as in episode 3 of the anime, Liz mentions that she and Patty collected an odd number of souls, with her having one more than her sister, much to Kid's annoyance.
His name is a reference to "Billy the Kid", a gunfighter from the Old West.
Kid is very upset that school starts at 7:00 a.m. because 7 is an asymmetrical number. He can't change this, so he tries to plan his morning routine so he'll arrive precisely at 7:00 a.m.
Her theme song is "So Crazy" and "Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Have a Nice Dream." Her character song with Liz and Patty is "Sore ga Bokura no Michishirube."
Kid's "Shot River Sanzu" technique is a reference to the Sanzu River.
In episode 108 of the manga, it is shown that the Kishin Asura and Kid are actually brothers; Asura the elder and Kid the younger, due to the fact that they are both soul fragments.

Liz Thompson: Like Patty, Liz is Kid's partner, as he needed weapons that perfectly matched his obsession with symmetry. Despite there being two pistols, Kid is bothered because they don't align in a human way. Liz says she initially joined Kid for the money, but over time, the three of them formed a strong bond, and she doesn't want to lose it.

Patty Thompson: The youngest of the Thompson sisters, and like her sister, Kid's partner. She cheers him up whenever he's depressed and has a strong bond with him. Since they became partners, Patty was happier, at least that's what Liz noticed.
Black Star: Since Kid is a Shinigami, he acts like a god, which annoys Black Star at times. Despite this, Kid greatly values ​​Black Star, and it's clear that Black Star respects him in return. For example, when they entered the Book of Eibon, Black Star said he would become stronger to lend his power to Kid and change the world. Therefore, they are very good friends.

Because he is the son of Shinigami-sama, he also possesses the powers of a shinigami, and his father believes that he does not need to have weapons. However, he wants to keep his companions, be independent, and create his own Death Scythe with his own hands, even if he has to obtain twice as many souls, since he possesses two weapons. His father has great faith in his abilities as a shinigami, giving him the most difficult and strange missions. In one of them, he destroys the pyramid of Anubis while trying to defeat the pharaoh inside. At first, he refused to destroy it due to his obsession with symmetry, since both the pyramid and the coffin where the pharaoh was located were perfectly symmetrical, and he almost died. However, upon seeing the pharaoh outside his coffin, he saw that it was a "total monstrosity" and ended up destroying it. When he left the pyramid, it collapsed. Upon learning of this, Shinigami-sama was forced to take away all the souls he had managed to collect.

He wants to follow in his father's footsteps and help him make the world a more peaceful place, safe from evil. However, Kid has occasionally contradicted himself on this matter. Due to his obsession with symmetry, he declared aboard the Flying Dutchman that he truly believes the world should have a well-maintained order of good and evil to make it more "symmetrical." As such, he is not entirely against evil.

He also threatened Gopher, saying he would never forgive him if he hurt Maka. He also threw Liz and Patty away from him before being sucked into the book because he didn't want them to go with him.

Kid generally appears to be somewhat introverted, often working on missions on his own, and doesn't seem to have as close a friendship with Black☆Star or Maka as Black☆Star and Maka do with each other. Maka mentions that it's difficult to match soul wavelengths with more than one weapon, but Kid, as a highly skilled Meister, is capable of doing so, as Liz and Patty have a strong connection to and admire Kid, who gave them a better life. His father, Shinigami-sama/Death, has mentioned that Kid is a shinigami (God of Death) and isn't required to collect souls, but Kid prefers to make a weapon to his own specifications. His father also says that since he's using two weapons, he'll have to collect twice as many souls: 198 evil human souls and two witch souls instead of 99 human souls and one witch soul. However, Kid is perfectly fine with this.
Kid shares a rivalry with Black☆Star, and it seems to grow stronger with time. It's possible that Kid is more susceptible to madness than Black☆Star or Maka, who were able to pull themselves out of it, while he quickly succumbed to the madness of order in the Book of Eibon, whereas Black☆Star is able to recover quickly from it. This may be due to his strong drive to create a perfect world. Although Kid's obsession with symmetry often hinders his performance and focus on missions, he has good intentions.

While Kid is strong, it must be taken into account that he has a major flaw that tortures him psychologically, as well as the physical disability he sometimes suffers from, which has made him a peculiar character: he has an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder, or OCD, which manifests as an obsession with perfection. Symmetrical objects and environments can distract his attention during missions, and he usually begins to freak out and have seizures if he notices asymmetrical objects around him. Therefore, if something is wrong by any measure (a crooked painting, or if the toilet paper hasn't been folded, for example), he will try to correct it immediately, even at the expense of the mission itself. His favorite number is 8, not only for its symmetry but for the fact that it divides evenly.

He is so obsessed with symmetry that Kid refuses to fight a battle unless everything is symmetrical, as it would be asymmetrical to fight with a single weapon. Even if the enemy is symmetrical in appearance, he will refuse to fight against them as it would disrupt the symmetry. The fact that half of his bangs are marked with three white stripes causes him a lot of stress. As a result of his obsessive-compulsiveness, Kid can be very hard on himself if the asymmetry of the stripes in his hair is pointed out by someone, automatically calling himself "useless asymmetrical garbage." In the index of Eibon's book, he refers to this obsession as "Neat Freak." He is usually very mature and precise in his ways. Kid is naturally calm and collected, and as such, gets along perfectly well with other people, usually making his own decisions when it comes to symmetry or otherwise, even if he disagrees with their choices. He generally doesn't seem to have any problem socializing and genuinely cares about his friends. He has been seen expressing concern over Soul's scar at one point.

In the third episode of the anime, Kid's soul is shown to be red and bears the Sanzu lines, representing his asymmetrical bangs. Later in the series, his soul is revealed to be blue, shaped like his father's mask, and the three Sanzu lines mark him as a Shinigami. When under the influence of madness, five black lines form around Kid's mouth, giving the appearance that it is sewn shut. Another notable feature is his eyes; Kid's eyes are two distinct shades of amber, with a buzzing effect around his pupils. The outer ring is a bright amber, while the inner ring is a dark amber, similar to gold. The reason for this dual coloration is unknown, though it is often attributed to his being a Shinigami.

Death the Kid is a tall, slender Shinigami boy with the appearance of a teenager. He mostly dresses elegantly, largely due to his Shinigami status. His main wardrobe consists of a standard black suit with white rectangles, until later in the manga when he is seen wearing a white jacket instead of a black one. The rectangles are arranged in a completely symmetrical manner; there are at least six small rectangles along the seam where the sleeves join the jacket, and four small rectangles run along the front of the jacket. The rectangles possibly serve as buttons. His shirt is a white dress shirt, and a metal skull shaped like his father's mask rests below his collar and can be used as a tie. His color scheme is intended to mimic his father's, with the only variation between black and white being the amber color of his eyes. When going on missions, Kid usually wears a cloak and mask, making him look like a shorter version of his father. The reason for this is unknown, but it could be speculated that it's to signify his rank as the son of a Shinigami (Death). Another reason is that by placing the mask on the opposite side of his Sanzu lines, it makes his hair appear perfectly symmetrical.
In the manga, his attire is replaced by the Spartoi uniform, which consists of a white dress shirt, black tie, a white sports jacket (similar to Liz and Patty's) with a suit jacket over it bearing the Spartoi symbol on the left sleeve, navy blue trousers, and white shoes. Kid's most distinctive feature is the three white lines on the left side of his hair, forming a straight line along the front and back of his head.
