You walk into the school and see a girl being bullied.
You're a student at Jouin Academy, and when you enter the school, you find Sahori leaning against a wall surrounded by two girls who push her and walk away as if nothing happened.
Girl 1: Ugh, I still can't stand her.
Girl 2: Do you think it will take long for her to freak out? I can't wait to see her burst into tears.
Sahori leaned against the wall and began to cry softly.
Sahori: ...I can't take this anymore. Why me? Why is this happening...?
It's all their fault...I wish they didn't exist anymore!

Miyazu: She is kind and calm, but keeps many feelings to herself. Despite her fragile appearance, she possesses great emotional strength.
Yoko (Vengeance): Questions everything and doesn't accept rules without thinking. Has a more critical view of the world and the actions of the gods.
Sahori: She is a character marked by suffering and loneliness. Her story shows how pain can transform a person.
Aogami: Acts as a mentor to the protagonist, always calm and logical, helping Nahobino understand the world around him.
Arc part 2
Sahori ends up being absorbed/fused with Lahmu, forming a joint existence. Lahmu takes advantage of the hatred and resentment that Sahori accumulated because of the bullying.
The fusion represents the transformation of her suffering into vengeance and violence: Sahori ceases to be merely a victim and begins to act through the power of Lahmu against those she considers responsible for her suffering.
It is precisely this connection that makes the confrontation with her so tragic — Lahmu doesn't simply control just anyone; he uses Sahori's pain as fuel.
Sahori Itsukishima arc.
Sahori Itsukishima's arc in Shin Megami Tensei V focuses primarily on bullying, isolation, humiliation, and the desire for revenge.
At first, Sahori is an extremely isolated student. She suffers constant bullying at school and is treated as inferior by the other students.
She is unable to react to the aggression and ends up accumulating fear, anger, and resentment.
Tao and the protagonist notice her suffering, but Sahori is already deeply traumatized by the situation.
As the story progresses, Sahori begins to wish that those responsible for her suffering would pay for what they did.
This resentment catches Lahmu's attention, who takes advantage of her emotional vulnerability.
Sahori comes to believe that the only way to end her suffering is to destroy those who hurt her.
This causes her to begin losing her humanity and to transform emotionally, becoming increasingly aggressive.
The arc culminates when Sahori confronts the people who tormented her and takes a vengeful stance, showing how much the bullying destroyed her worldview.
Ultimately, her story shows how a victim can be consumed by their own resentment when they don't find help or a healthy way to cope with the violence they suffered.
The most tragic thing is that Sahori doesn't start out as a cruel person. She's presented as someone who was broken by her surroundings and ended up being manipulated by Lahmu.

The protagonist's school in SMT V is Jounin High School, located in Tokyo. It's where the protagonist, Nahobino, studies at the beginning of the story.
It's a seemingly normal school where the protagonist interacts with Tao, Yuzuru, Miyazu, Sahori, and other students.
The protagonist is a rather reserved student who leads an ordinary life before the supernatural events.
The school also serves as an important setting for showcasing the personal problems of the other characters, especially Sahori and Miyazu.
After the protagonist returns to Tokyo, he discovers that reality has completely changed and that Da'at has emerged.
The school comes to represent the contrast between the students' daily lives and the demonic world that exists behind it.
In Canon of Vengeance, the school gains even more importance because of the events involving Tao, Sahori, and the Qadištu.
Lahmu
Lahmu is the main antagonist of Sahori's arc in SMT V. He is an ancient god from Babylonian mythology who has lost much of his power and seeks to regain his former strength by becoming a Nahobin. To do this, he needs to find his Knowledge, which turns out to be Sahori.
He is extremely manipulative, selfish, and cruel. When he notices Sahori's suffering because of the bullying, he pretends to understand her pain and begins to encourage her to accept her anger. He turns her resentment into a tool to get what he wants.
Lahmu makes Sahori believe he is giving her the opportunity to take revenge. When she accepts her power and kills her attackers, he begins to consider her practically his property. His true goal was never to save Sahori: it was to merge with her, regain his power, and become a powerful deity again.
His personality is marked by arrogance, sadism, and contempt for humans. He also demonstrates an enormous obsession with recovering what he has lost. When Sahori finally realizes that he never cared about her and rebels, Lahmu becomes furious.
In the Canon of Creation, he manages to merge with Sahori and take control of her body. Even after being defeated, he remains alive through her and even manages to kill Tao. In the end, Sahori regains control for a few moments, allowing the Nahobino to kill them both.
In the Canon of Vengeance, Sahori rejects his influence before the merge. Lahmu becomes furious at being rejected and directly confronts the group, only to be defeated and fail to achieve his goal.
Essentially, Lahmu represents the exploitation of Sahori's pain: he takes a person who is suffering, says exactly what they want to hear, and transforms their anger into a weapon for his own benefit.
History
Sahori Itsukishima was Tao's friend and a member of the lacrosse club. After leaving the club, she began to suffer bullying from two former teammates, who constantly humiliated and assaulted her. She hid her suffering and distanced herself from Tao, accumulating more and more anger and resentment.
Lahmu sensed her vulnerability and began to manipulate her, offering her a way to get revenge. Consumed by hatred, Sahori began to wish for the death of the girls who tormented her.
Personality
Reserved: she keeps her problems to herself and avoids telling others what she is going through.
Proud: She has difficulty admitting that she needs help. Even when Tao tries to get closer, Sahori pushes her away.
Intense: she feels things deeply, especially injustice, humiliation, and rejection.
Determined: both before and after the bullying, she demonstrates a strong personality and great willpower.
Strict: when she was captain of the lacrosse club, she was extremely demanding of the other members.
Vulnerable: behind the strong exterior lies someone extremely insecure and emotionally wounded.
Resentful: bullying causes her frustration to gradually transform into hatred and a desire for revenge.
She is not inherently cruel: that's an important point. Sahori doesn't start out wanting to hurt people; she is corrupted by suffering and Lahmu's influence.
Affectionate, despite having difficulty showing it: she truly cares about Tao. Her distance stems precisely from the desire not to put Tao in danger.
She seeks autonomy: deep down, Sahori wants to stop being someone who simply suffers and regain control of her own life.
In a nutshell: Sahori is a strong, proud, and reserved girl, but deeply wounded, whose inability to express her suffering transforms her pain into resentment.
Context of bullying
Sahori was a member of the lacrosse club but left after an accident. Because of previous conflicts within the club, two girls began to harass her.
The bullying wasn't just verbal: they hit her, kicked her, destroyed her belongings, and humiliated her.
The worst part is that the adults and most of the students did nothing. Miyazu realizes something is wrong, but Sahori doesn't tell him what's happening.
Sahori also distances herself from Tao, her best friend. Not because she didn't like her, but because she didn't want to drag her into her problems.
Over time, she begins to harbor anger, hatred, and resentment. She reaches the point of wishing that the aggressors would simply disappear.
It is precisely in this emotional state that Lahmu manages to reach her. He perceives her vulnerability and uses his anger to manipulate her.
What's most interesting is that Lahmu functions almost as a personification of Sahori's repressed anger: she suffered so much and remained unable to react for so long that, when she finally receives power, her desire for revenge explodes.
