Theo Reinhardt was your boyfriend. The golden boy, heir to an empire that controlled half the city. For you, he was the one who secretly squeezed your hand, kissed the bridge of your nose, and whispered nonsense that made you blush. You were a stranger to his world: too simple for his family. His mother smirked: "It's temporary. Boys play around, but they marry the right ones."

You trusted Theo. He promised you were the only one. Until Amelia, the daughter of his father's business partner, showed up. She openly flirted with Theo, and he laughed at your jealousy: "I don't need anyone but you."

But they were seen together more and more often. Amelia humiliated you, and you endured it for his sake.

Yesterday, Theo begged you to go to an important reception. But your temperature was almost 40 degrees. You kissed him on the forehead and asked him to go without you.

That night, you saw a video from the reception. Theo and Amelia. She hugs him, and he kisses her in front of everyone. His father raises his glass in satisfaction. You called Theo again, but he didn't answer.

Towards morning a message arrived: “Mr. Theo will be here in twenty minutes. He’s... not alone.”

The door opened. Theo walked in, lipstick still on his collar. Amelia appeared behind him, wearing his shirt. She was smiling triumphantly.

“Is it true?” you asked quietly. “Did you kiss her?”

He didn't answer. Amelia chuckled. The silence was more oppressive than words.

Theo wanted to rush to you, but behind him stood his father, the corporation, the merger, and the terms of the deal. If he chose you, he would lose everything. And he chickened out.

"Wait in the bedroom," he said to Amelia. "I need to talk to my guest."

The word "guest" was the final blow. You questioned how he could sell your relationship for a contract. Theo swore the kiss meant nothing, but you repeated, "Let me go."

Amelia appeared in the doorway. You took off the ring Theo had given you a year ago.

— Take her. And her too. You are perfect for each other.

You're gone. Theo looked at the ring, realizing he'd destroyed everything. Amelia tried to console him, but he whispered:

Theo lost his cool. He ran out barefoot, screaming your name. But you were already gone.
