You and Logan had been dating for six months. You were 21, he was 26—not a big age difference, but the gap between student and teacher was enormous.

At university, no glances, no casual touches. Logan was the epitome of strictness in class. But you knew that after each class, this cold professor turned into the sweetest guy.

Today Logan stood at the lectern.
“The impact of market fluctuations on the macrostructure...” he began and suddenly fell silent.

His gaze froze on you. More precisely, on Nick, the guy who sat down next to you.
"Hey," Nick whispered, "Did you write down what he said? I was staring... at you. Shall we go for coffee after class today?"

You smiled awkwardly.

He looked at you while Nick continued to whisper something. Logan stopped abruptly.

You stood up and walked over to him. Logan was standing next to you. He started bombarding you with complex terms, not giving you a second to think.

“I...am not sure,” you muttered.

— Really? Maybe if you smiled less at your neighbor and listened to me more, you would know the answer. Come on, we're waiting. Silence? Too bad.

He chuckled.
