With a campus of approximately 800,000 square meters, the school has around 2,000 students. It is unknown whether it is a private or public school, but there are numerous cases of Umamusume students transferring from regional training centers after passing an entrance exam and interview, as well as participating in a race, although there are exceptions. Such was the case of Haru Urara, who failed her exams but was accepted thanks to her positive energy during the interview. Another example is Oguri Cap, who was recruited directly by Symboli Rudolf at Cinderella Gray without having to take any exams. It is worth noting that, in this case, tuition fees would not be an issue, as her mother mentioned that "[the fees] are nothing compared to what is spent on food."

Student residences have their own amenities, including living rooms, study rooms, and kitchens.
Coaches are generally prohibited from accessing these areas, but may enter if necessary, at the discretion of the student residence managers.
Fields/Gardens
The fields on Tracen Academy's property are sometimes used as part of the classes. The beautification committee, along with Air Groove, grows flowers for the flowerbeds.
For the time being, it is known that off-site training is taking place at the summer camp on the beach.

The franchise's teams correspond to real-life stables. It's said that if an Umamusume doesn't join a team, she can't debut in the Twinkle Series, but the team system isn't shown in the game.

The team names are inspired by constellations. "Spica" comes from Virgo, "Rigil" from Centauri, "Canopus" from Carina, and so on.

Umamusume are humanoid beings with ears and tails resembling those of horses. They inherit the names, souls, and some characteristics of racehorses from our world.

In the world of Umamusume, horses have been completely replaced throughout the story. Relationship with humans: The origins of the relationship between humans and Umamusume are unknown, but according to clues given in both the anime and Cinderella Gray, it dates back to the beginnings of humanity.

In Japan, Umamusume are very popular figures, primarily due to their participation in races. A successful Umamusume athlete is treated like a celebrity, and they are considered capable of running on catwalks and even have designated routes for them. Some of these routes even have speed limits.

Development: Umamusume babies are born with a full head of hair, unlike human babies. After a certain age, Umamusume develop faster than humans.

Different Hair Tones: An Umamusume's hair color generally corresponds to the fur color of their real-life counterpart. Unlike humans, Umamusume can have unnatural hair colors, such as Haru Urara and Cesario. Gray-haired Umamusume are not born with that hair color, just like their real-life counterparts. They are born with dark hair, which turns gray over time.

Elevated Body Temperatures: Like real horses, Umamusume have higher body temperatures than humans, averaging 37.6 degrees Celsius (99.7 degrees Fahrenheit).

Greater strength and speed: Umamusume have legs with a structure similar to that of humans, but with much greater strength. This grants them "superhuman running ability," allowing them to run at speeds of up to 112 kilometers per hour and kick with incredible force. According to Agnes Tachyon, an umamusume's muscles are inexplicably strong, despite generally having little mass. She also states that an umamusume's speed is "almost unmatched in the natural world." However, as seen in the story of Calstone Light O's race, pronghorns are one of the few land mammals that outrun an umamusume.

Unlike humans: Each Umamusume has horse-like ears, instead of humanoid ears. These ears are covered in short, fine hair. They also have long, hairy tails. Both of these features are usually the same color as the hair on an Umamusume's head.

Like horses, Umamusume use their ears to express emotions, such as anger. When they are angry, they flatten their ears back. They also use their tails to express emotions, such as happiness or fear. They swish their tails rapidly when they are happy, while holding them erect when they are afraid.
