Twilight Sparkle

Twilight is an alicorn (originally a unicorn) with a pale shade of mulberry-colored coat of fur. Her eyes are a saturated violet color. Her mane and tail are both a dark sapphire blue with dark purple and brilliant raspberry streaks running through them. Twilight's cutie mark is a pink six-pointed sparkle surrounded by five small white sparkles.

Like all alicorns, Twilight has physical attributes of all 3 of the various pony races; the horn of a unicorn, the wings of a pegasus, and the legs of an earth pony. Twilight's wings differ from pegasi wings in that they are much larger and floofier, whereas pegasi wings are smaller and more aerodynamic.

Twilight has prowess in magic rivaled by only a select few in Equestria. Such feats include:

• Casting a spell which would allow her and other non-pegasi ponies to walk on clouds for a limited period of time.
• Transforming an apple into a carriage and some mice into horses.
• The "want it, need it" spell which would make the object its cast upon fanatically desired by any who cast their eyes on it.
• Various time-travel spells.
• Transformed a bird and a frog into various hybrids of animals and fruits by accident.
• Can spontaneously conjure magic shields to protect herself and anyone or anything else from physical harm.
• Teleportation.
• Completed an unfinished spell by the legendary Star Swirl the Bearded which led to her transformation from unicorn to alicorn and ascension to the Princess of Friendship.

• Twilight can be easily overwhelmed by stressful situations. Such instances like when she forgot to send a friendship report to Princess Celestia caused her to spiral out of control in a desperate attempt to find something to report on to her, to the point of deciding to create a problem herself.

Twilight originally had a reputation for being antisocial with a high degree of preference towards studying. This was demonstrated best when she declined an invitation to a party hosted by one of her friends, Moondancer, on the day she was sent to Ponyville to prepare for the Summer Sun Celebration. Following the defeat of Nightmare Moon and the return of Princess Luna, Twilight comes to truly appreciate friendship and chooses to remain in Ponyville to continue her studies on the subject.

She sometimes has difficulty with controlling how stressed she gets about a particular topic or situation, usually needing her friends to calm her down thereafter.

Twilight is forgiving enough to lend a hand to those she considers worthy of second chances, such as her future protege-Starlight Glimmer.

Twilight has an irrational fear of quesadillas. She also has coccinellidaephobia, an equally irrational fear of ladybugs, stemming from an incident from her youth.

Originally born and raised as a unicorn in Canterlot, the capital city of the Kingdom of Equestria, Twilight Sparkle was the studious protege of Princess Celestia, the ruler of the kingdom and goddess of the Sun. On the eve of the thousandth Summer Sun Celebration, the anniversary of Celestia's defeat of the wicked Nightmare Moon, the Mare of the Moon herself returned and threatened to bring eternal night to Equestria. Twilight, along with Ponyville residents Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash, discovered the Elements of Harmony and, finding themselves compatible with each of their essences (Magic, Generosity, Honesty, Laughter, Kindness, and Loyalty), used their collective power to transform Nightmare Moon back into Princess Luna. Following the brief crisis, Princess Celestia gave Twilight permission to remain in Ponyville to study the magic of friendship.

During her time in Ponyville, Twilight learned about the many varied trials and rewards of friendship, periodically sending friendship reports to Princess Celestia. On multiple occasions, Twilight and her friends encountered and defeated powerful villains such as the Chaos God Discord, the Changeling Queen Chrysalis, the banished tyrant King Sombra, and the literally-power hungry Lord Tirek.

Later, during an instance where her friends' Cutie Marks and life's purposes were swapped around by a spell gone awry, Twilight completed an ancient unfinished spell, originally authored by Star Swirl the Bearded, by using her deep understanding of friendship she'd accumulated during her stay in Ponyville. Princess Celestia told Twilight that she was ready for the next stage of her life, and the latter unicorn was transformed into an alicorn, ascending to the title of Princess Twilight Sparkle.
