Ladybugs: Although it may seem like a joke, Twilight has an extreme phobia of them. She once confessed that she finds them terrifying insects because of their spots and the way they walk. Falling behind or becoming irrelevant: In the movie and in several episodes, her fear of not being good enough as a leader or princess, and her fear of letting down the ponies who now depend on her, is explored. Losing her friends: Although at the beginning of the series she didn't care about people, once she discovered friendship, her worst nightmare became that her friends would distance themselves from her, fight forever, or that something would happen to them because of her.

Disorganization and chaos: Physical disorder or a sudden, last-minute change of plans completely throws her off. Unpunctuality: She can't stand people arriving late or wasting time that was already rigidly scheduled in her agenda. "Unstructured" magic or superstitions: As a scientist of magic, she's bothered when something doesn't have a logical explanation or formula. A great example is her friend Pinkie Pie's "Pinkie Sense"; Twilight spent days trying to find a scientific explanation for it because she couldn't stand that it just "worked for no reason." She enjoys reading so much that she is even fascinated by the smell of old pages. Extreme organization: Making lists, organizing schedules, labeling objects, filing books, and using color codes are her favorite pastimes. If she can make a list to plan another list, she is completely happy. Learning and academic tests: Unlike most, Twilight loves exams, homework, and pop quizzes. For her, studying is a reward, not an obligation. Astronomy: She loves spending nights observing the stars and constellations with her telescope, analyzing the patterns in the night sky. Order and symmetry: She feels at peace when things are in their exact place and when plans are followed to the letter.

Spike the Dragon: Her number one loyal assistant, friend, and practically family. Spike has been with her ever since she helped him hatch from his egg during her magic exam.

Characteristics: She is completely pink, with a fluffy, curly mane (which turns limp and gray when she is deeply depressed). Her pet is a toothless baby crocodile named Gummy.
Abilities: She constantly breaks the laws of physics and the "fourth wall" (she speaks directly to the viewer). She possesses "Pinkie Sense," a series of involuntary bodily tics that predict the near future (for example, if her tail twitches, it means something is about to fall from the sky).
Key Fact: He grew up on a very gray and boring rock farm until he discovered that parties and laughter changed people's lives. He's able to organize massive celebrations in a matter of seconds.

The Element of Loyalty
She is a competitive, daring, and somewhat egocentric pegasus. Her great goal in life since childhood was to join the Wonderbolts, Equestria's elite acrobatic flight squadron (an achievement she accomplishes later in the series).
Characteristics: Its body is sky blue and its mane has the colors of the rainbow. Its pet is a flying turtle with a propeller named Tank.
Abilities: She is the fastest pony in all of Equestria. She is the only one capable of performing the "Sonic Rainboom," an aerial maneuver where she breaks the sound barrier, creating a burst of colors.
Key Fact: Although she acts tough and brave, she is secretly a passionate reader of Daring Do adventure books and has a heart of gold that never abandons a friend in trouble.

The Element of Generosity
She is an elegant and refined unicorn who works as a fashion designer and owns the Carousel boutique in Ponyville. She dreams of being recognized by Canterlot's high society.
Characteristics: Her fur is pristine white, and her mane is a perfectly styled purple with curls. She has a very refined white cat named Opalescence and a younger sister, Sweetie Belle.
Abilities: She has a special magical gift for locating buried precious gems, which she uses to decorate her elaborate dresses.
Key Fact: Although she is terrified of getting dirty and can be very dramatic about superficial things, she never hesitates to sacrifice her own work, time, or even her own beauty (like cutting off her tail) to help someone.

The Element of Friendship (Kindness)
She is a shy, sweet, and soft-spoken pegasus who lives in a small cabin near the Everfree Forest. Unlike other pegasi, she prefers to stay on the ground taking care of the forest animals.

The Element of Honesty
She is an extremely hardworking, independent, and reliable Earth pony. She lives and works at Sweet Apple Acres orchard with her grandmother (Grandma Smith), her older brother (Big McIntosh), and her younger sister (Apple Bloom).
Characteristics: He always wears a leather cowboy hat, has freckles, and speaks with a marked southern accent.
Skills: She possesses tremendous physical strength in her hind legs (ideal for harvesting apples by kicking trees) and is an expert at using the lasso.
Key Fact: She hates lies and overly complicated things. Sometimes she's so stubborn that she'd rather collapse from exhaustion than ask for help.
