Cat Noir

Marinette's friend. Her key role is her evolution from a cold "golden girl" to a close friend. Kagami lives under the yoke of her demanding mother, Tomoe, who controls her every move.

She is the wielder of the Dragon Stone (Kwami Long) and the heroine of Ryuko. Details about her powers can be found in a separate question.

· As Ryuko, she is a trusted ally of Ladybug. She respects her as a leader, but can also act alone, displaying perfectionism.

She's the second most important antagonist after Gabriel. She's his right-hand woman, organizing everything from scheduling to technical support during Hawk Moth's attacks. But her role goes deeper:

· Initially, she is simply a devoted assistant, but over time she becomes an accomplice in Hawk Moth's plans.
In Season 3, she begins using the broken Peacock Stone (Duusu) to become Mayura, a supervillain who creates akumatized beings from emotions. This severely undermines her health.
Her core drama is her devotion to Gabriel. She's in love with him, but he's obsessed with resurrecting Emily.
Relationships with Ladybug and Cat Noir:
As Mayura, she is their direct enemy. She doesn't hate them, but she sees them as the main obstacle to Gabriel's goal.

· Unlike Gabriel, who sometimes hesitates, Natalie acts coolly and pragmatically.
· She is smarter and more attentive than Hawk Moth - she was close to revealing their identities several times, but something always got in the way.
· At the same time, she takes no pleasure in their suffering. For her, it's simply "work" and "necessity," although she does experience internal conflict—especially after she sees Adrian suffer at the hands of his father.

Important: She doesn't know that Marinette is Ladybug and Adrien is Cat Noir. But she knows Gabriel's secret and covers for him.

Gabriel Agreste. In his civilian form, he is a tall man with slicked-back blond hair and dark blue eyes. He wears a formal suit: a white jacket, red trousers, a red-and-white striped tie, which conceals his Miraculous, and black glasses.

As the supervillain Hawk Moth, his appearance changes dramatically: he wears a dark purple suit, his face is hidden by a large black mask, and his eyes are purple. His look is completed with black gloves and a cane.

Gabriel is the series' main antagonist and the father of Adrien (Cat Noir). His primary motivation is to obtain Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculouses so he can make a wish and resurrect his deceased wife, Emily. To do this, he uses infected butterflies (akuma) to transform people with negative emotions into supervillains and send them against the heroes. He is portrayed as a tragic figure whose grief has warped his moral compass.

Name: Adrien Agreste. Son of the famous fashion designer Gabriel Agreste (aka Hawk Moth) and the late Emilie Agreste.

He has aristocratic features, a gentle smile, and flawless skin (like a model's, as he models for his father). He usually wears a white shirt and black pants, topped with a blue windbreaker with white trim.

Significance in the plot:
He is the second protagonist and the owner of the Ring of Miracles with Kwami Plagg. Without him, the team would not exist.

· His superhero role is Cat Noir, Ladybug's sidekick.
His main personal drama: he lives in a gilded cage—his father controls his every move, doesn't let him leave the house, and his mother is missing ("dead"). That's why he values ​​the freedom that the image of Cat Noir gives him so much.
· In the plot, he plays the role of emotional support for Lady Bug and the viewer's "heart" - he is sincere, romantic and always ready to sacrifice himself for her.

Towards Ladybug: He's been hopelessly in love with her from the very first moment. He's willing to do anything for her, constantly flirting, complimenting her, and defending her in battle. Significance in the plot:

The school bully and main antagonist. She's the daughter of the mayor of Paris, so she thinks she can get away with anything. She constantly humiliates Marinette and her other classmates.
Her arc is one of the most controversial. In seasons 1–3, she shows growth (becoming the superheroine Queen Bee, wielder of the Bee Stone), and it seems she will improve. However, in seasons 4–5, she finally chooses evil, becomes a temporary ally of Hawk Moth, and transforms into the supervillain Queen Bee (masked) and later, Xena (Pennybug).
Her role is to show that not all victims become heroes. She rejects the chance to change and remains selfish, making her the antithesis of Marinette.

· Towards Ladybug – hatred and envy. Chloe loves being the center of attention, and Ladybug is the main character in Paris. He's Adrien's best friend and the first to realize how difficult it was for him to live under his father's oppression. Nino constantly takes Adrien out for walks and supports him.
· He is Ali's (Marinette's friend) boyfriend and their relationship is the second most important couple in the class after Marinette and Adrien.
He is the owner of the Turtle Stone and the superhero Carapace. This allows him to join the superhero team and knows Ali's secret identity (she is Rena Rouge), but he doesn't know that Marinette and Adrien are Ladybug and Cat Noir.

Marinette's mother's name is Sabine Cheng. She is Chinese, a baker (she owns a bakery with her husband, Tom), and the main character's mother.

Appearance: Short and petite, she has short, dark blue (almost black) hair cut into a bob, reaching to her chin. She has warm brown eyes, high cheekbones, and a gentle smile. She usually wears simple clothing—T-shirts or blouses in muted colors, often with a Chinese collar—and an apron at work.

Significance in the plot:
She is Marinette's emotional anchor. Sabine is the one Marinette turns to for advice in difficult situations (without revealing her superhero secret). It is from her that Marinette inherited her calm, wisdom, and ability to find compromise. In the series, Sabine has been akumatized several times (for example, in "Quinzan" as Quinzan), which created a personal drama for Marinette—fighting against her own mother.
