Persona Attributes

Lu Ten

Prince Lu Ten is the only son of General Iroh and the cousin of Zuko and Azula in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe.

  1. 👤 Appearance
Official illustrations (including material from Legacy of the Fire Nation and supplemental tabletop publications) depict Lu Ten as a young man with traditional Fire Nation features, brown eyes, and dark hair pulled back into a classic ponytail or warrior knot.
He wears the standard Fire Nation armor, but in official artwork he is often depicted with a soft, respectful, and open expression, emulating his father's benevolent energy.
  2. 🧠 Character
Peaceful and Kind: Inherited Iroh's gentle nature and philosophy, leaning towards harmony and peaceful living over brutal conquest.
Inquisitive and intelligent: He grew up as a smart child who valued knowledge and was genuinely interested in the world.
Devoted Son: He was not only the heir, but also his father's best friend; they shared a deep affection and mutual respect (official artwork depicts Lu Ten greeting Iroh with a deep bow).
  3. 🗓 Key events of life and death
War Experience: As a prince and soldier of the Fire Nation, Lu Ten fought on the front lines under his father during the massive siege of the Earth Kingdom capital, Ba Sing Se.
Death: Iroh's army waged a siege for 600 days and managed to breach the city's legendary Outer Wall. However, just before the decisive victory, Lu Ten was killed on the front lines.
Aftermath: His death broke Iroh, forcing him to lift the siege and abandon his ambitions to claim the Fire Lord's throne. Lu Ten's death became a major turning point, transforming Iroh from a stern commander into a wise, compassionate mentor.

Zuko and Lu Ten's (Iroh's son) relationship

💡 What is known about their relationship?
Good Cousins: Rare flashbacks and official materials show them getting along well. Lu Ten was older than Zuko and treated him kindly, as the youngest member of the family.
A Surrogate Father for Iroh: Lu Ten's death during the siege of Ba Sing Se was a tragedy for the entire family and directly impacted Zuko's fate. Iroh transferred all his unspent paternal love to Zuko, orphaned and rejected by Ozai, becoming a surrogate father to him.
Impact on the plot: Lu Ten's death softened Iroh and made him the wise and compassionate mentor we know, which saved Zuko's own life and soul in exile.

Jasmine Dragon

The tea shop that Uncle Iroh and Zuko opened after working as a simple waiter in Ba Sing Se (from the animated series "Avatar: The Last Airbender") was called "The Jasmine Dragon."

After the war, Iroh works there.

Monorail

In the Earth Kingdom there is a monorail: it takes people from one part of the ring to the other, and the rich use "human carriages"

Beifong Metalbending Academy

It's not located in Ba Sing Se itself, but near the city of Yu Dao (on the site of a former firebending dojo). It was founded by Toph Beifong after the Hundred Year War to train the first metalbending students.

The girls' faces are covered in thick white makeup with red accents on the eyes and lips—borrowed from traditional theater and used to intimidate enemies. They wear metal hoops or elegant combs on their heads.
Weapons: Folding metal combat fans (used for both defense and crushing blows), light round shields with the Earth Kingdom emblem, and traditional katanka swords. They later adopted the chi-blocking technique from Tai Li.
History: A squad of elite female warriors was founded by Kyoshi herself to protect her home island. For a long time, they remained isolated, neutral guardians of order, but during the Hundred Year War, they emerged into the wider world, aiding Aang, and later, Suki fought alongside Sokka and Zuko. Post-war: The squad was fully restored under Suki's leadership. The warriors continued to serve the forces of peace and security, and their ranks were joined by former circus acrobat Ty Lee, who taught the friends energy-blocking techniques.
🕵️‍♂️ Dai Li
Uniform: Severe dark green robes of Earth Kingdom officials in the Qing Dynasty style and stiff dark conical hats (gonmao).
The clothes look elegant and formal without restricting the agents' movements. Weapons / Technique: Earth Magic.
Their specialized equipment and "weapons" include stone gloves and boots made of compressed earth, allowing them to silently slide along walls, perform acrobatic jumps, and accurately hurl stone projectiles. They also use chains hidden in their sleeves to bind opponents. History: Created by Avatar Kyoshi to suppress riots and protect the cultural heritage of the capital city of Ba Sing Se. Over time, the organization degenerated into a secret police force and a tool of political investigation. Under Long Feng's leadership, they established a reign of terror and systemic censorship in the city ("everything is ok inside Ba Sing Se").

Spirit World

The Spirit World in the Avatar universe (in the animated series The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra) is a parallel dimension inhabited by immortal, disembodied entities—spirits. It reflects the state of nature and emotions, and ordinary people can only access it through deep meditation, during the solstices, or through special ancient portals at the North and South Poles. 🗺️ Features and Laws of the Spirit World: Reflection of Emotions: The appearance and atmosphere of locations in the Spirit World change depending on the inner state of the visitor or the harmonious relationship between them and nature. Rule of Materialization: If a spirit departs to live in the human world, they become mortal. Conversely, if a person physically passes into the Spirit World (through a portal), their body remains there, but magic may work differently. Avatar Connection: The Avatar, as a bridge between worlds, can transfer their spiritual projection there or pass through entirely, as well as call upon the wisdom of past incarnations. 📍 Key Locations and Elements: Spirit Portals: Located at the poles of the planet; they connect the two worlds, but were long closed by the first Avatars for the safety of humanity. Spirit Oasis: A place in the physical world (at the North Pole), as close as possible to the Spirit World, where the spirits of the Moon and the Ocean (Tuya and La) dwell. Misty Lost Souls: A dark area where people whose minds are stuck in illusions, grief, or madness end up.

Democracy

During the war, there was a policy of harsh militarization and dictatorship, but during Zuko's reign, he returned to pre-war reforms and democracy:

  2. The Fire Lord could have a same-sex spouse
  3. In the world, as in the land of fire, homosexual relations are the norm

Order of the White Lotus

Secret signs at a meeting, quotes from the philosophy of the lotus, and a special trick for playing Pai Sho
📜 History of the Order
Origins: The Society arose centuries ago as an elite club of Pai Sho enthusiasts, erasing the boundaries between warring nations. For a long time, they maintained neutrality and shared knowledge.
The Hundred Years' War: Under the leadership of General Iroh and the Grand Masters (Bumi, Pakku, Piandao, Jeong Jeong), the order emerged from the shadows. They liberated the Earth Kingdom capital, Ba Sing Se, during the arrival of Sozin's Comet.
Then it began to guard the Avatar (after Aang's death)
Schism: After the war, a radical portion of the members broke away and formed the criminal Order of the Red Lotus, which seeks chaos and the destruction of the Avatar's power.
Banners (🌟 Appearance and Elements)
Colour scheme: The banner's fabric has a rich terracotta, orange or reddish hue (associated with the walls and banners of the liberated Ba Sing Se).
Central symbol: Stylized white lotus flower with symmetrical petals.
Form: Rectangular vertical banners and field camp flags used by members of the order during open combat against Fire Nation forces.

The Saowon clan's armor has distinct Korean historical motifs and consists of the following elements:
Headdress: A dark maroon conical helmet with a golden pinnacle (crown) on the crown and protective brim covering the ears and neck.
Chest armor: Scale or plate armor of a dark red color. A large, red, circular decorative element with a gold border is located in the center of the chest. Massive protective pads are attached to the shoulders.
Bottom: A loose-fitting, ankle-length, dark burgundy fabric skirt (hem) with protective lamellar panels running down the front.
Shoes and accessories: Black boots with upturned toes and gold trim.

Details: A circular gold clan insignia is emblazoned on the chest. Footwear consists of tall dark boots with gold shin guards, and a simple dark headband holds the warrior's hair in place.

Seinaka Clan

Clan emblem
Form and essence:
The emblem is a minimalist golden rectangle. In official lore (Kyoshi books), this symbol is described as a stylized whetstone for sharpening weapons.
Symbolism: Since the clan's home island in the southern Land of Fire was extremely resource-poor, the clan's main "export" became the skills of its people—they became skilled bodyguards, teachers, and warriors. The whetstone symbolizes constant honing of skills, mental acuity, and military discipline.
Military uniform
The armor design is inspired by the traditional armor of the Korean state of Baekje:
Colour scheme: The dominant colour is strict black (dark grey), combined with dark burgundy elements on the inside of the skirt and gold piping that highlights the details.
Helmet: A closed, conical helmet with prominent neck and cheek protection. The top of the helmet is crowned with a small golden element resembling an arrowhead or stylized flame.
Shoulder and Chest: Multilayered rectangular shoulder pads that flow seamlessly into a thick chest armor. A square gold buckle is located in the center of the belt.
Lower part: The armor protects the legs with multi-layered shields (lamellar skirt), under which dark pants and closed boots with golden toes are visible.

Clans of the Land of Fire

👑 Ruling DynastyThe Royal House (Sozin Family) is the ruling dynasty that has held absolute power for centuries.
🗡️ Famous aristocratic clans
The Sei'naka clan is a proud and warlike clan from a small southern island. Due to a lack of resources, they emphasized martial arts and provided the finest instructors, bodyguards, and soldiers (Rangi, Avatar Kyoshi's personal guard and companion, belongs to this clan).
The Saowon Clan was a once influential and wealthy noble clan from Ma'inka Island (led by Lady Huazo), whose influence was undermined during the Kyoshi era due to political intrigue and attempts to seize power.
The Keoso clan is one of the ancient noble families of the Fire Nation.
The Inta clan is an influential house that has traditionally controlled a significant portion of trade with the Earth Kingdom.
The Lahaisin clan was a noble family that controlled the key sea routes and straits of the archipelago.

Iron Warships: The fastest, most powerful, and most common form of transport. They are coal-powered, equipped with catapults, and can carry fire mages and infantry.
Wooden barges: Simple river or coastal vessels without a motor, which are sometimes towed by large animals (such as sea lions) for speed.🚂 Land and military transport

Fire Country Clothing and Hair Style

👘 Clothing Features
Color range: Red, burgundy, dark brown, and black. Gold is used for nobility and the military.
Shoulder Pads: The primary marker of social status. Commoners wear one shoulder pad, nobles wear two, and the ruler (Fire Lord) wears three.
Casual and light style: Adults wear long, thick robes and tunics, while young people and wealthy teenagers wear more revealing clothing (sleeveless jackets, light short pants for boys and light dresses for girls).
💇‍♂️ Hair Style and Symbolism
Royal Knot: Men and women of noble families wear their hair in a high, tight bun on top of their heads. Rulers and family members wear golden flame-shaped hairpins, and the Fire Lord secures the hairstyle with a special, massive, serrated crown comb.

Cutting off the tail: Cutting off the hair or tail completely symbolizes a voluntary break with the Land of Fire, betrayal of the system, or a rejection of a previous status.
Women's hairstyles: Women often wear their hair partially loose, carefully pulling strands away from their faces. Noble ladies grow long, well-groomed nails, emphasizing their leisure and high status.
