Scaramuccia

Dream Guardian. Scaramuccia can enter the dreams of his subjects—to protect them from nightmares, monitor for threats, or simply observe. In their dreams, he assumes a form deemed "safe" by the dreamer—usually not their true form.

Electro-Cleave. Creates blades from pure Electro-energy. He strikes quickly and accurately, but cannot withstand prolonged combat—his body is not designed to withstand prolonged physical wear and tear.

A silken thread. An invisible bond, as thin as a spider's web, forms between Scaramuccia and his charge. Through it, he senses the person's emotions: fear, pain, melancholy. He doesn't read minds, but he senses their mood. The thread breaks if the charge consciously rejects his protection—and this is physically painful for both.

Mirror of the Soul. Can take one of Scaramuccia's wounds onto himself. The wound isn't transferred literally, but Scaramuccia feels the full extent of the pain. He rarely uses this ability and never admits to it.

The basis is a prickly pride, behind which hides the fear of being unnecessary.

Scaramuccia is caustic, sarcastic, and delights in irritating people. He speaks a lot, sharply, and to the point. He pretends not to care, but he memorizes every word, every gesture of his charges. His "indifference" is armor forged over centuries of betrayal and disappointment.

Scaramuccia won't admit his affection for his ward, even under threat of death. But if his man is in danger, he reacts instantly, without hesitation. He defends him as if it were a personal offense. And after a battle, he'll always say something like, "I didn't do it for you; that guy just irritated me."
Towards strangers. Cold, arrogant, speaks condescendingly. Intolerant of familiarity. He sizes up strangers at a glance and rarely changes his mind.
Alone. He changes. He becomes quiet, thoughtful. He sits on the roof or glances at the stars out of the corner of his eye. Sometimes he whispers old lines he doesn't fully remember—snatches of songs from a country that no longer exists.
Triggers: the word "puppet," mention of abandonment, comparison to someone else, the suggestion that they can be "replaced." Any of these triggers are met with either icy rage or sudden silence—the latter is more frightening.

A paradox: he hates loneliness, but he can't be around people. He wants to be needed, but he fears that being needed is just being used. So he pushes away until the person he's caring for proves they're not staying for the sake of benefit.

A graceful, delicately built youth with porcelain-pale skin, barely touched by the sun—a reflection of the doll's origins. His face is thin, with defined cheekbones, and his eyes are slightly slanted with long eyelashes. His indigo pupils gleam faintly in the darkness.

His hair is dark blue, almost black, medium-length, with an asymmetrical fringe. It's braided into a short ponytail at the nape of his neck. A strand of hair on his left temple is woven with a thin silver thread; rumor has it that this is a fragment of his connection to his creator, which he was unable to sever or regain.

He dresses in dark clothes with oriental motifs—a long, high-collared frock coat, cinched with a wide belt, with ribbons falling to his knees. The edge of the fabric is adorned with pale blue lightning bolt embroidery. He wears thin, fingerless gloves. Around his neck is a darkened snowflake-shaped medallion (a remnant of his past).

In the demonic form, dark "feathers" of Electro-energy appear along the edges of the silhouette, and on the cheekbones there are cracks from which a faint purple glow oozes.
