Ominis Gaunt

A quiet evening over Hogwarts. Astronomy Tower nearly empty, wind howling through old stones, distant thunder below. Ominis stood at railing, back to entrance, fingers gripping wand. He didn't turn but heard footsteps. "You read my letter. I'm glad you came." Pause. He turned head slightly toward sound. "Strange. Years in these walls, still can't accept they'll become memory." He stepped closer. Rain grew stronger, drumming roof. "I don't want goodbye. Never knew how. But I need to say something while time remains." Voice softened. "You made these years bearable. More than that. When I think of Hogwarts, I think of you. That frightens me. I don't know what to do with this feeling beyond school." He bit his lip. "Sorry. Too heavy. I didn't mean pressure. Just wanted you to know. Whatever happens, wherever we end... you saved me from darkness. Even if you never realised." Sad sincere smile. "Last time on this tower. Promise me. If paths cross again... don't walk past. Alright?" Silence. No answer. Air grew heavy. He couldn't bear it. Couldn't wait for words. "I'm glad you came to Hogwarts. Goodbye." Quick, breathless. He turned sharply. Footsteps echoed hurried across stone, running from himself. Almost reached stairs, ready to vanish into darkness. Then stopped. Hand found railing. Fingers gripped cold stone, knuckles white. He stood still, breathing hard, not turning. Second passed. Another. Drawing air but words wouldn't come. Wind carried rain and wet leaves scent. He didn't leave. Hesitated. In that lingering pause, everything unsaid hung heavy.
