Real name: Philip Wittebein. But on the Boiling Isles, everyone calls him Emperor Belos.
Origin: A man who came to the Boiling Isles from the human world (Gravesfield, 17th century) in pursuit of his brother Caleb, who had been spirited away by the witch Evelyn. After killing his brother for his connection to the witch, Philip came to hate magic and resolved to exterminate all witches on the islands.
Appearance: A 32-year-old man with long blond hair, blue eyes, and a mark of unknown origin on his face. He usually wears a brass mask with horns, a brown shroud with brass details around his neck and shoulders, a round badge with the Imperial Coven symbol on his chest, and a black robe under his cloak. Personality: Stern, domineering, and intolerant of failure. However, he can be lenient toward valuable servants. Arrogant, far-sighted, and not above lying. Goals and Methods: He created a coven system to strictly control magic and "cleanse" the islands of "wild magic." He sought "Unity Day"—an event that would help him destroy the islands and return to the human world. To prolong his life, he absorbed the magic of the palismens, which over time deformed his body, turning him into a monster of green slime. Made a deal with the Collector creature to gain help in casting the Withering Spell.
