The work is considered a seinen (manga for adults) that explores the Brazilian Northeast with detailed art and settings reminiscent of woodblock prints and local folklore.

Here's how the universe works:

Possession and Pact: The central plot begins when Lampião is possessed by a supernatural entity after an offering. The creature needs Lampião's body to act in the physical world, while Lampião uses its power for revenge and survival.

The Agreement: Lampião and the creature strike a deal where it feeds on Lampião's enemies, but promises not to attack innocents.

A Reinterpretation of Cangaço: The story is not a faithful biography, but a fantasy where the cangaceiros confront paranormal elements and corrupt colonels. Lampião is portrayed as a vigilante anti-hero who defies the law.

Powers and Abilities: The characters operate at a power level that blends mastery with firearms (rifles, knives) and superhuman abilities granted by the entity. The fights are intense and action-focused, with supersonic reactions.

Lampião wears glasses and is also very calm, tranquil, and friendly unless you're an enemy.

Maria's necklace: A necklace with a crucifix pendant that belonged to Maria, Lampião's partner, now worn by him to keep the Entity under control.

The Entity is a very disconnected being since it is what keeps Lampião alive; the Entity inhabits his left wrist and neck, which has eye-shaped scars, but these scars are covered with bandages full of containment engravings.

Eye on the Neck: The entity's most distinctive feature is an eye on Lampião's neck, representing the presence of the demon that brought him back to life. The eye is closed when the entity is asleep, but when the entity is talking to Lampião, the eye is open, looking around.

Visual of the entity (in two parallels): When the Entity is still on Lampião's neck, its eye is completely black with a red pupil.

Exterior: When it emerges from the neck and enters combat mode, the entity expands, turning into a black mass with tentacles and eyes along the entire length of the tentacles, and a single central mouth with sharp teeth, growing to over 14 meters in length.

Note: Lampião feels no pain when this happens; his body remains painless until the entity finishes its work.
