Children are disappearing. This is the village's main, terrifying mystery: missing persons reports appear regularly, and no one can really explain where the children are going. These disappearances are directly linked to a mystical threat.
Something sinister seems to be awakening in the forest. Strange voices can be heard from the thicket, mysterious footprints can be seen at night, and the forest seems to have a separate, hostile life of its own.
Creatures in animal masks appear. Anton (the protagonist) encounters mysterious figures who behave like animals and are clearly involved in the ongoing troubles.
There's the "Black Garage," a particularly creepy location. This place is tied to the very core of the threat: strange and frightening things happen there, and it becomes the center of many plot twists.
The residents live in tension, but try to ignore the strangeness. Adults either don't believe the children or pretend everything is normal; some problems are attributed to mundane or criminal causes, refusing to entertain the idea of ​​a mystical origin. Meanwhile, some characters harbor dark family secrets and difficult circumstances, heightening the overall oppressive atmosphere.

The game was set in the late 1990s, most likely January 1999. The atmosphere is that of the post-Soviet hinterland. The game features many recognizable details of that era: pot-bellied televisions, the VID TV company's intro, panel houses, payphones, and household items—all of this creates an image of the early 1990s.
Location and everyday life. The action takes place in a small taiga village somewhere in Siberia: nearby are a forest, the outskirts of the city, a typical school, and a police station. This setting emphasizes the isolation of the place and reinforces the sense of a time when connections to the "big world" were much weaker than they are today.

Liniya Pavlovna, teacher of class 9B

Liliya Pavlovna is a woman of 48-49 years old. She has medium-length dark hair, usually pulled back into a bun. She wears fox-eye glasses, amber earrings, and a formal suit (jacket and skirt). Outside, she appears in a long fur coat with a fur collar, a knitted beret, black heeled boots, and a floral-print bag. She is a strict, authoritarian teacher of the "old school": she maintains strict discipline and does not give bullies any slack. At the same time, she is fair and tries to prevent bullying in the classroom. However, she has a special relationship with her daughter, Katya—she loves her dearly and often turns a blind eye to her antics, even when she is clearly in the wrong. Liliya Pavlovna is a significant supporting character: it is she who greets Anton Petrov as the new student in the class and assigns him a desk. Her overprotectiveness of Katya noticeably impacts her daughter's behavior and relationships in the classroom. In certain storylines, Liliya Pavlovna finds herself in a difficult situation due to problems with her daughter and is deeply distressed.

In the branch where Anton treats him without contempt, Byasha tries to be helpful, is the first to notice details (like Katya's wallet), and sticks around because he feels accepted.

Katya is a 15-year-old girl, about 155 cm tall, and slender. She has light brown hair, braided with a hair tie adorned with a red strawberry, and green eyes. She looks neat and diligent, but there's something predatory about her expression—a viper-like quality, heightened by her prominent fangs and sly gaze.

She usually wears a black sundress over a white skirt, a white long-sleeved shirt, white stockings, and black strappy shoes; she wears stud earrings. Outside, she wears a jacket with a fur hood, white gloves, a scarf, a knitted hat with earflaps and pom-poms, and a brooch in the shape of a bouquet of flowers.

Character and role in the plot
Domineering and vindictive, Katya is the class president and the homeroom teacher's daughter, which makes her feel superior and allows her to get away with it. She enjoys gossiping, pitting people against each other, and watching others suffer.
A manipulator. She often uses her position to frame others: for example, she can make Anton Petrov look guilty in front of adults by concocting a convincing lie.
She has influence at school. She has many friends with whom she discusses rumors, and maintains her position with the local gang of hooligans (including Roma Pyatifanov and Byasha).

Byasha is a boy of Buryat descent: he has slanted eyes, shaved temples, and thick black bangs. In certain scenes (depending on the game's events), his hair may turn completely gray, and he begins to slouch and adopt defensive postures. He is 16 years old.
He is Roma Pyatifanov's closest friend and a student in 9th grade "B." A key character trait is a profound fear of the Black Garage. He is one of the few who visited it and survived, but the encounter left a deep psychological scar: the mere mention of the Garage sends Byasha into a panic.
