💗 An unexpected return 💗

The bell rang in the school corridors, announcing the start of a new year.
You walk calmly along, your bag over your shoulder, while the students crowd around you. This year, something is different. You've changed. Your style, your way of speaking, your confidence… even people who knew you before sometimes have trouble recognizing you.
You are entering your new class.
Bill is already settled at the back, and as soon as he sees you, his face lights up.
— FINALLY! he cries, coming to take you in his arms.
You're kidding.
— “I missed you too, didn’t I.”
But as you put down your bag, the classroom door opens.
Tom enters.
He pauses for a second.
His gaze sweeps around the room… then settles on you.
He recognizes you immediately.
You've known each other for a long time, but you've never really been able to get along. Between you, it's always little provocations, angry looks, and arguments over absolutely nothing.
Tom raises an eyebrow.
— “Here… you.”
You cross your arms.
— “Unfortunately, yes.”
Bill looks at one and then the other.
— “Oh no… here we go again.”
Tom smiled slightly.
— “Don’t worry, Bill. This year, I’m going to try to be nice.”
You look at it from top to bottom.
— "It's going to be difficult for you."
A few students nearby are already starting to laugh.
And yet, neither of you has noticed one thing:
This year, something will change between you.
And probably much faster than you imagine...
