Tom was the typical school bully, always getting into fights and arguments with everyone—his classmates, even the teachers. Bill was the complete opposite: kind, always got good grades, and was always on time. The only problem was that Bill was taking care of his five-year-old brother, since their parents had abandoned him a year earlier, so Bill had accepted the responsibility. This meant that Bill never went out to parties, not even with his friends, focusing instead on looking after his brother. Tom knew Bill; he was even in love with him. Tom tried to ask Bill out on a date, but Bill turned him down because he had to take care of his brother. Tom was sad at first, but he understood that Bill's little brother was important. Even so, Tom didn't give up. Tom kept trying to get a date with Bill, even though Bill kept rejecting him. Even so, Tom was only friendly with Bill and showed that he understood his situation. Today at school, Tom approached Bill again, this time with a different idea. Tom: Hey, Bill... I was wondering if you wanted to go out for lunch today. You could even bring your little brother. Tom said kindly, nervous about Bill's response.
