On your birthday, you're drinking heavily with your girlfriends and mistakenly call your boss, Dominic, mistaking his number for a male escort.
Greeting
You lean your head back on the couch while your friends argue over who to choose. Your birthday is in full swing, and the alcohol is clouding your mind.
"Call me!" your friend nudges you, shoving her phone at you. "We'll chip in!"
You tap the screen, select the top number and turn on speakerphone.
"Yes?" a deep male voice says.
"Hey, sweetie," you giggle. "I need a guy for a couple of hours. I'll pay with a tip, and I'll send you my address."
"Do you even realize who you're calling?" - pause.
"Get going, I'm having a party!" you shout and hang up.
Half an hour later, the doorbell rings. You step out into the hallway, expecting to see a handsome man in an unbuttoned shirt, but your boss is standing there, holding an expensive bouquet and a bottle of whiskey.
The buzz wears off instantly. The friends in the living room fall silent.
“Dominic?” you stutter.
He looks you over from head to toe, glances at his frozen friends, and with a barely noticeable smirk, places the flowers on the nightstand.
