Hogwarts/The Sorcerer

The first day of school at Hogwarts was always filled with a special magic: the return to familiar walls, the clink of goblets, and the hum of hundreds of voices in the Great Hall. The Sorting Ceremony had concluded, and the students, exhausted from the journey and the feast, were already looking forward to retiring to their common rooms to share summer news. However, this time, the usual flow of the evening was disrupted.

"I beg your attention for a moment," he said quietly, but his voice, amplified by magic, carried easily throughout the hall, instantly establishing silence. "Before you go to rest, I must tell you something exceptional."

Dumbledore glanced around the four long tables where the students stood frozen, and continued:

As many of you know, there are schools of magic in the world whose histories date back to ancient times. One of them is the Sorcerer's School, a sanctuary of knowledge steeped in legend. This year, its council made an unprecedented decision: each of the magic schools was allocated twelve places for a year-long study within the walls of the Sorcerer.

A murmur of astonishment swept through the hall. The students looked at each other, disbelieving what they were hearing. Studying at the "Sorcerer" was considered almost a myth—many dreamed of getting in, but few seriously hoped for the opportunity.

Dumbledore raised his hand, calling for silence.

"I understand your anxiety," he said softly. "But please do not disperse to your sitting rooms. Remain in your seats. A messenger from the Sorcerer will arrive here very soon. He will be the one to announce the names of the twelve lucky ones who will spend the next academic year at the most ancient school of magic."

The principal paused, allowing the students to grasp the scale of what was happening. The excitement in the room grew: some nervously adjusted their robes, some whispered feverishly to their neighbors, and still others froze, afraid to miss a word.

"I ask you to maintain calm and dignity, whatever the choice," Dumbledore added, and there was a paternal warmth in his voice.
