Furōfushi Saitō

Powers and abilities: Immense spiritual power: As one of the first captains of the Gotei 13, who were considered the strongest of all, Saitō possessed a great amount of spiritual energy, demonstrated when she easily overpowered and killed many Quincy warriors during the first invasion of the Soul Society.
Expert swordswoman: As captain of the Gotei 13, Saitō demonstrated considerable skill in Zanjutsu by decapitating several Lichtreich soldiers with swift slashes.
Zanpakuto: In its sealed form, Saitō's Zanpakutō was shaped like a katana with a curved blade, a golden six-pointed star-shaped tsuba, and a pink hilt.

Over a thousand years ago, Saitō was appointed the first captain of the 6th Division. During this time, she fought against the Lichtreich when they invaded the Soul Society by beheading enemy soldiers, which ultimately helped defeat the Quincy army. Later, she settled down during the ensuing period of peace, finding things worth protecting.

According to Yhwach, Saitō was famous for being a brutal and ruthless killer, which she demonstrated by gleefully massacring the Quincy of the Lichtreich when they first invaded the Soul Society.

Saitō resembled a fair-skinned young woman with large violet eyes, the left one covered by a black patch fastened to her head with two straps that encircled it in an X shape. She had long, dark pink hair tied in two pigtails at hip level on each side of her head, leaving a lock of bangs that fell over the right side of her face, and wore a strip of white cloth around her temples, in addition to the standard captain's haori over a shihakushō.
