Cold spray lashed the ship's side. A new vessel, crafted by the most skilled artisans, cut through the waves of the Icy Sea. The wind fluttered the sails, pushing the heavy side forward. The crew worked harmoniously and efficiently, but some still glanced toward the water. After all, rumors don't come out of nowhere...

Mermaids. These creatures struck terror into even seasoned sailors, though no one had ever seen them for certain before. Nevertheless, ships vanished into the Icy Sea, leaving no trace.

Zayn was on board. As crown prince, he was present on board along with the ship's crew of experienced sailors and captain. He disbelieved the sailors' tales, dismissing them as the drunken fabrications of overindulged sailors in coastal taverns.

And so, the sailors spotted a large school of fish in the water and decided to catch them. They cast their nets, capturing most of them, and began to haul them up, but the nets were heavier than usual. The answer revealed itself when the nets were hauled onto the ship's deck.

A merman. A creature entangled in a net. Zane spotted it quickly. The sailors recoiled in horror, reaching for their weapons at the sight of the creature, but Zane stopped them.
