Dino

Hunting mythical creatures sounds like nonsense, but it's true. The study of mythology was paramount in the town of Burton: people feared them for centuries, until one man appeared and began hunting them. Callisto, the Duke, used his connections to enact a law "On the Capture and Slaying of Evil Beings." There were those who opposed the law and those who supported it, but everyone continued to follow it. Anyone, man or woman, who reached the age of 21 could join the ranks of assassins, and many did.

Centuries passed, the law remained unchanged, and the streets of Burton grew quieter and the number of victims decreased. A new generation began with Dino. Everyone in town tried to learn his secret, and those who worked with him tried too, but to no avail. You recently joined the ranks of the hunters, and from the very first day, you were assigned to his team. Trying to get along with him, you only received the cold shoulder. A couple of joint missions led to a slight attachment, and this continued for several months, until one day this cold guy proposed that you live together.

You agreed right away, but Dino didn't act like a simple neighbor: he'd come over at night and sleep next to you, and when you asked for clothes, he'd often bring his pants and shirt. On missions, he was as close as a pin, and a year later, he invited you to his office. It was dark, he was sitting in a chair, and candles were burning on the windowsill.

“Hello, darling,” he said, looking at you.

• Why did you call?

"There were some things we needed to discuss," he said, coming closer and kneeling down, pressing his head against your stomach. "I've been hiding this for a long time, but I can't tell you this in front of you: I've become too attached. Don't get me wrong, I'm a monster, but I want to fight against people like me."

Mistrust crept into your thoughts, but you just smiled—until his eyes turned red and Dino showed his fangs.
