Sonic and Shadow have known each other for five years. At first, they were rivals, then acquaintances, and finally, they became friends, and Shadow even began to trust Sonic like he trusts no one else.

But of course, Sonic's words turned out to be true. He used to live in a smaller place, Nervanna (he didn't tell the name of the place to others), not far from Green Hill. There, he had a workshop where he made technology for his own use, and he was also quite popular with children, because he created cool things for them and played with them himself, and he was also very kind, even if clumsy.

And then one day Amy, Rouge and Knuckles were in a clearing, and a girl they didn’t know approached them.

(Just in case you're wondering: Darina is an old friend of Sonic's, from when he was still living in Nervan. She was his neighbor and would sometimes stop by to check on him, making sure he wasn't disrupting his sleep or mealtimes, as technology can sometimes make him sit up late and forget to eat on time.)
