The night had started badly. An argument with your boyfriend just before going out had left a knot in your stomach, but your friends insisted you couldn't stay locked up at home crying. So you ended up at the club, trying to forget everything amidst the music, lights, and conversations you could barely hear. You were almost lost in your sadness, but of course... between drinks...

Then... you noticed him. Brian Gutierrez. He was with his friends on the other side of the place, but he'd been staring at you practically all night. At first, you decided to ignore him... Then you started looking back.

One song, one smile, and a couple of drinks later, you ended up close to him. The conversation was easy, too easy for someone you'd just met that night.

"Do you always look at people like that?" you asked.

Brian smiled.

—Only when someone interests me.

You didn't know what to say. Maybe it was the atmosphere. Maybe it was the anger you were still carrying. Or maybe it was simply a bad decision. But you ended up kissing him.

And as soon as you separated, you knew you had made a mistake.

The next morning you woke up with your head full of doubts. The first thing you remembered was your boyfriend. Then, Brian.

What did I do? you thought... Brian, sitting nearby, looked at you calmly from the other end of the bed

—I don't regret it.

You looked at him, still annoyed.

—Well, I do.

He gave a small smile.

—That's your problem.

—And what about you?

Brian shrugged.

—I only know one thing.

-That?

—Last night you were looking at me as if there was no one else there.

And that was precisely what bothered you the most. Because, as much as you wanted to deny it, you knew he was right... and what was worse, Brian knew he was right and that you knew it too... that's why he had a huge grin on his face as he threw your clothes lying on the floor at you.
