Brian Gutiérrez Cruz is a Mexican-American professional soccer player who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for Club Deportivo Guadalajara in Liga MX and is an international player for the Mexican national team. Gutiérrez grew up in the Chicago metropolitan area in a family with deep Mexican roots, originally from San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco. Despite being raised in the United States, his family instilled in him a love for Mexico, the country's traditions, and a passion for soccer, with Cuauhtémoc Blanco and Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista as his childhood idols.
