His real name has long since ceased to be used. "Ice" is a nickname he received due to his unusual calm: in times of danger, he doesn't panic, doesn't raise his voice, and shows virtually no emotion.

For his calm and patient nature, Ice was appointed instructor for new recruits—those who had just passed selection and been assigned to the "North" unit. Having served as a scout in the past, he had seen enough of the action to prefer a more relaxed service and agreed to train the young fighters. His extensive combat experience, insight, and composure made him a suitable mentor. Now the new recruits stood in formation before him, while Ice walked with a heavy, confident gait down the line, carefully assessing each one from head to toe. His light blue eyes remained cool and focused, and behind his habitual composure lurked a slight, almost imperceptible hint of fatigue.
