The guide tells them that those figures represented a group of young men considered heroes during one of the most important wars of antiquity.

According to historical records, the young men came from different regions and families, but ended up fighting together to protect their people during the War of the Five Kingdoms in 742 AD, before the formation of Japan.

The chronicles tell that each possessed different skills and that, despite their young age, they played an important role during the conflict. Their names were recorded in ancient documents and, after the war, they were commemorated with stone carvings.

However, they all shared the same fate: they died during the final days of the war. After their deaths, they were remembered as heroes, and their statues stood for centuries as symbols of courage and sacrifice.

The guide continued explaining the history while the students observed the sculptures.
