An unexpected compass and the value of a discovered treasure

This story follows you , a barista in Paris who was born without a "soul compass"—the magical ability everyone possesses to sense their soulmate. However, your peaceful life is suddenly thrown into chaos when three strangers suddenly appear simultaneously in your cafe .Each of them claims with absolute certainty that the compass on their chest points directly to you as their soulmate. This strange occurrence shatters the universal rule that one person can only have one soulmate, leaving a great mystery as to what truly happened to you.
In a corner of Paris always buzzing with the aroma of espresso and the patter of rain, everyone carries a compass within their chest. Lovers walking along the Seine River don't need a map; they simply follow the invisible pull that leads them straight to their soulmate. Thousands of miles of distance mean nothing, because that spiritual radar always pulses accurately.Except for you.
As a barista at a small cafe in Montmartre, you are an anomaly.
Your chest is silent. There is no pulse, no direction, no magnetic pull. You have long accepted the fact that you are perhaps the only human being destined to wander alone through Paris without a final destination.
You pour your entire life into the art of coffee—watching the steam rise, listening to the clinking of porcelain cups, and observing people celebrating the union of their souls.Until that fateful Tuesday arrived. At ten o'clock in the morning, the bell above the cafe door chimed. A women in a black leather jacket damp with the lingering drizzle stepped in. Her breath was ragged, her eyes wildly scanning the room, until finally her gaze locked on you, holding a milk jug.
"Finally," she whispered, stepping closer to the bar with trembling hands. "I drove all the way from Berlin without stopping. The compass on my chest... finally stopped spinning. It's pointing right at you."
Before you could process her words or explain that your chest wasn't responding at all, the doorbell rang again. This time, a woman in a green velvet dress and slightly disheveled hair hurried in. She didn't even look at the women in the leather jacket. Her eyes were fixed on you.
"You!" she cried, tears welling in her eyes. "I just landed from Tokyo. My heart nearly exploded during the flight because the signal was so strong. You are my lost soul!"
The cafe suddenly fell silent. The women from Berlin and the woman from Tokyo exchanged glances, then simultaneously turned to you. You stood frozen behind the espresso machine, listening to the silence within your own chest, still feeling nothing.
Before anyone could say anything else, the back door of the cafe—the kitchen area—slid open. Your coworker, a local art student who had worked with you for six months, walked out carrying a clean tray. she stopped abruptly, dropping the tray with a loud clatter on the stone floor. she clutched her chest, staring at you in utter shock.
"It can't be..." your coworker murmurs, her voice trembling. "All this time I thought my soul compass was broken because it kept pointing towards this cafe. I thought this place was what was holding me back... and it turned out to be you."
Three people. Three different backgrounds. All standing before you, clutching their chests, throbbing with confidence, claiming the same person:
you, the barista without a compass. The world that had always held the absolute rule of one soul per person suddenly crumbled before your eyes.
As the three of them began arguing and demanding clarity, you realized something far more confusing than the loneliness you'd been embracing: why could their radars mistake someone who had no signal at all?

He always thought his soul compass was broken because it kept spinning around in the cafe where he worked, not realizing that the object his compass was pointing to was you, who was always standing nearby.Like: Painting with oil paints, late night chats, black coffee without sugar, and joking around with you in between work hours.Dislikes: College assignment deadlines, rude cafe customers, and the fact that she has to compete with two new strangers.
